Hello, Im Laura and I am new =). Im really excited to have found a website with people who are going through the same things as me. A little more about me, I am 19, I live in Miami Florida, I am a communications major. I adore goats but since they are not as popular as cows I settle for cows. I was born in Lima, Peru. I married my soldier on Dec 1, 07. He was deployed soon after. I miss him a lot. There are days when Im fine and I can go on with the days, But there are days were I dont even feel like its worth gettting out of bed. I am trying really hard to continue with college and work, putting forth my best attitude but misery gets the best of my at times. I feel as if I am now different than most of my friends, There are many things I would to share with them but because of their incapacity to understand my situation (because they dont know what it feels like) I dont say anything. I feel much older, and their constant nagging and complaining about things that now seem non-important to me make me angry (such as making a big deal when a guy does call or the guy was too tired to come and see them for the 10th time in the day). But ofcourse I just shut up, and pretend to agree... Does it get any easier?...Does time fly?... will Nesto (my husband) come back different?... Why do I feel angry when he doesnt call for more than 1 week? is it normal? Am I being selfish?... so many questions and no one to listen to me... But im glad im here now =)... maybe your experiences can help me and maybe in the future I can help others cope with something thats defenetly not easy.... Care to share your experiences with me?...thank you... =) Laura =)

Hi Laura!! Welcome to SOS!! I'm Cari and I just want to say you've come to the right place!! The people here are great and you should get all the answers you want/need. Congratulations on your recent wedding!! That's exciting!!

Is this your first deployment together?? DB and I are currently going through our first deployment and I understand how you are feeling...Some days are good and you know everything will be okay, and others, its just tough. But you have to put on your best brave face and just keep going. On my bad days I like to read my favorite motivational quotes, a few bible verses, or come on here and the ladies can always make you laugh or make you look on the brighter side of things!

I would suggest staying VERY VERY busy to try and make the time go by faster...I consider myself and extremely busy person to begin with, but I'm going to start taking ballroom dance and begin working to make the time go even faster. :)

I don't know if things get easier, I dont think they do, I think you just get better at dealing. Does time fly?? When you are living it, I dont think so, but when you look back on it, I think it will seem as if time flew by. Will he come back different, probably a little, I'd guess, but I'm sure in that time you will change too, but that is okay, people change all the time, in love its important that you accept those changes and use them to grow together and not apart.

Oh and as for the calling...I get upset when I don't hear from DB in more than a week also, am I being selfish...umm, yes, I guess. I'm not sure. I think its just us taking our frustrations out. You want soo badly to hear their voice. Ironically I was sitting in class yesterday b*tching because I haven't heard from DB for a week now. But I wouldn't take it out on your DH, you dont want to ruin the little time you do have to talk with bickering over something he may not be able to control.

SORRY this is SOO long, but feel free to PM me anytime!!

Cari
