I was a babywearer! I'm not any more since my kiddos are 6 & 4. :lol I really liked the OTSBH (Over The Shoulder Baby Holder). Maya Wraps & Mei Teis are awesome!

Check out this group for some awesome advice! www.thebabywearer.com

I didn't. My kids HATED the sling!! Maybe I should look at a different sling this time?

I used a snugglie (sp?) until she got too heavy-they're only good for up to like 24 lbs or so, but when she hit about 20 lbs, her combined with my big boobs made my back hurt too much....

The sling just seems too awkward for me to try it out...

I have one from Hotslings.com.

I tried it on w/ her and didn't really like it, but I honestly haven't given it a fair shot to really give my opinion.

I tried slings and carriers with both. They were both very awkward and uncomfortable for both of us. Plus, they hurt me since I had a c section. By the time I was healed enough to wear them, they were too big to tote around like that.

I did with my 2nd. I had my sling made by a lady I met on one of the navy wives websites. I can't remember her name for the life of me now though...

I made a sling for George.... he loves it. It kills my back now though.... 26lbs is a lot to lug around. We have moved on to the backpack :D

I've used a sling when my son was little, he would always fall asleep really fast while in it, but I had to stop wearing it shortly becuase he was a chunk monkey!! LOL

I just bought a sling yesterday from this site:

I'm cheap and bought the $17 clearance one. It was the colors I was looking for anyway. It came to $23 with shipping.

I use a maya wrap. I made it myself, they are extremely easy and cheap to make. I still use it when he is tired or we go somewhere not stroller friendly. He is 28 pounds now. It doesn't so much hurt my back, but if he is in there for a long period of time my hips will start to hurt.

How do you make one? Is there a pattern somewhere?

Here is the pattern.

Here is where I get the rings. You can use the metal ones you can find at walmart, but if your child is more than 20lbs I wouldn't recommend them.

It is very simple and take maybe ten or so minutes to sew. If you put extra fabric you could make a little pocket on the tail end to store stuff. :)
