So we had a hoover and it died and its not even a year old.

So we need a good one that can be for pet hair and can be ran everyday.

DH said that we can get a dyson, but i read a lot of reviews and people have had some really bad luck with them, hoses broken, not picking up after a while, etc. But the Bissell I found got awesome reviews.

Which would you get for a high traffic area, two shedding dogs, and it needs to br ran every day?

I have a Bissel and love it! I've also heard great things about the Dysons.

ETA I have a dog and 3 kids and it works great on pet hair and picking up all the dirt that is tracked in.

I have an Oreck, have had it for about 5 years and it's like new still. Love it and will never use anything else :)

the bissell i like is the pet hair eraser or something rather.

I am just ticked! We paid good money for ours and it stopped sucking and everything. and you cant find parts (like belts) for it in the stores!

I have a Bissel and I like it. I have heard bad reviews on the Dyson from Consumer Reports as well, but that was the older models. I told DH that I want an Oreck when we move to a house with more carpet.

I have a Bissell and love it! We don't have pet hair so much, but I run mine everyday and it picks up great. I have heard bad things about Dyson too. Plus they seem really overpriced. I actually had a lady stop me in Costco as we were looking at vacuums and tell me not to buy Dyson, that they had had 2 and ended up with something else altogether because they had nothing but problems.

What model is the bissell? I had one and it died after a year. I bought a dyson canister. I have 2 dogs that shed like crazy, and I'll never own anything else. I love mine.

I have both an Oreck and a Dyson. Our Oreck is over in our storage shed and I might sell it on Craigslist. I like my Dyson and we've had no problems with it so far......we've had it for about a year now. I bought the Dyson mainly for the versatility of using the wand on hard floors.

Our Oreck was nice it's just the bags are really expensive:tired

We also owned a Bissel that shocked us so badly......we too it straight back to Walmart. Every time it touched my leg even slightly it shocked the piss out of me........my dh didn't believe me and then he got shocked and was like damn:wow I will go see if I can find it online. We had bought it before the Dyson trying to save some money:no

I had a Bissell and after a year it wouldn't pick anything up. I paid around $100 for it too, so I was annoyed.

I've had my Dyson for almost a year now, and I LOVE it. It hasn't lost a bit of suction, and it's easy to clean. It also has a lifetime warranty.

Every single bissel I have bought has been junk. Works well for a few months and then dies. I got a kenmore from Sears this November and am in LOVE with it! It is called the Kenmore quick clean, and it sucks up pet hair amazingly!

I'm glad you posted this. I'm going to delve further into Dyson/Bissell/Oreck reviews before purchasing. We were looking at Dysons but from what I read here, they aren't that swell :lol

Dyson is better if you have allergies. No exhaust. No belts to change.

I have the Dyson animal after owning an oreck. The day I got my dyson animal I did a test, used the oreck. Then after tried the Dyson, OMG the stuff it picked up after the oreck was ran was amazing, and I will tell you the oreck had just recently been serviced so it was in top running order. I love the wand on the Dyson, love the hair it picks up from the dog, two cats and 3 kids, and wow the ease of cleaning it!!!! U dont get dirty from touching bags and stuff.

all of the reviews on the dyson scare me, people parts were breaking that werent covered by the warrenty. also on their site it says they are only garunteed for about 5 years, not a lifetime.

I dunno, its going to be hard for me to spend 500 bucks for a sweeper.

All I know is that I wont get another hoover again.

I have always raved about my Dyson Animal, but in the past 3 weeks it has totally crapped ou on me. I've had it for 3 years and suddenly it won't pick up on carpet anymore. I've tried everything to fix it. I replaced the filters, thoroughly cleaned it out, I even called Dyson and did everything they told me to do. It still doesn't work right. It works great with the hose just not with carpet.

I am looking into a Bissell right now as a replacement.

I am really angry about the Dyson.

I (L) my dyson. We've had it for 2 yrs now, and it still sucks up perfect. I love that pretty much the entire thing comes apart if something gets stuck in there. I had a piece pop off and not go back on once...so I called the 24 hr help line they had, someone answered RIGHT away (yes a real person) and were able to help me fix it within 3 minutes. I will never buy another vaccum.

They only have a 5 yr warranty according to their site.

And when I was reading peoples reviews they said not everything is even covered in it so they still had to pay money to get it fixed.

I guess thats what I am scared of, spending that money and it breaks.

I have a English Shepard and a Aussie Shepard, so they SHED TONS AND TONS! I dont want it to break and be stuck.

We bought ours at Best Buy and even though hubster didnt want to, I got the extended warranty on it through them. I think it was for either 3-4 years, so definitely look into that if you get a dyson. Good to have it just "in case"

I have a dyson and love it!!! I used it in a new home after we moved in a week later and it was picking up stuff the cleaners missed with their vaccums. It makes my carpet look brand new everytime! I have 4 cats and it picks up everything! I'm addicted to vaccuming now!
