I realized that when I read Elizabeth's thread. They might be successful in getting people, like us, to talk about it. But me talking about surely won't make me buy it. i dunno. i grew up in a trailer park and i get pissed when someone calls me trailer trash. db's done it in fights and its taken a lot more self-restraint than i thought i had in me to not hit him upside the head.

I don't think he was tryin to expliot the word I think he was tryin to bring to light what it means... While I can appreciate what he is trying to do..b/c racism is still alive... Blacks using that word is almost the same as women using bitch. They are trying to own it, to take it away from those that would use it to hurt. By over using the word, it loses it's meaning. Maybe you don't understand because you have never been there. Instead of heaping massive amounts of judgement on others, maybe try to place yourself in their shoes.

I think the whole outfit is terrible... as for using the term nigger... i dont find it appropriate... with her own group of friends who all are ok with the word? go wild.. but out and about? its just too hurtful to too many people.

My gay friends and i all use terms that are absolutely NOT to be used around anyone else.... BECAUSE they are HURTFUL... with close friends who understand? its ok.. but ONLY then.. because we GET it.

My best friend and i often call each other bitch and whore... but we are careful about who hears it... its just not appropriate for EVERYONE.
