please note, all of these questions are generic and will be asked for all locations so some may sound silly. The questions underneath each area are only there to help you think. Please feel free to skip things that don't apply or to elaborate on things that I did not mention.

(How is military housing there? Which area did you live in and did you like it? Is it affordable to buy or rent in town and if so what areas would you recommend? Any additional thoughts?)

Shopping:
(How are the commissary and NEX? Do you shop there or out in town? What stores are available out in town? What is the local shopping like? Malls? Any places you recommend? Any additional thoughts?)

Housing:
(How is military housing there? Which area did you live in and did you like it? Is it affordable to buy or rent in town and if so what areas would you recommend? Any additional thoughts?) I have no idea about military housing, we live in town. The rental places aren't too bad in town, we live in a nice area. Rent to me is high, but I'm from Illinois, but I've heard that what we pay is about the average.
Schools:
(Which schools did your kids attend? Did you like them? Did your kids like them? How do you think the school system was overall? Any schools you would recommend over others? Did you go to college while you were there? If so, which college and how did you like it? Any additional thoughts?) My kids attend EC Best. Yes they like it alot!! I like the school, too. There are about 5 differnt elementary schools here and you really have no say on which ones your kiddies will go to, but I would recommend EC Best. The teachers are really good and they care. It might be one of the oldest in town and not look that great, but the teachers and staff make up for that.

Shopping:
(How are the commissary and NEX? Do you shop there or out in town? What stores are available out in town? What is the local shopping like? Malls? Any places you recommend? Any additional thoughts?) The commisary and NEX are alright. I don't go out to base alot, so I don't really shop there, it's about a 10 min drive from where I live. I shop in Fallon, now, I didn't really until they got the Super Walmart. I would drive to Reno to do alot of my shopping. And I do still go to Reno, because that is where the malls and specialty stores are.

Cost of living:
(What is the cost of living like? High? Average? Low? How did it effect your family? Was there anything special you had to do to make ends meet? Any additional thoughts?) I think the cost of living out here is high, but again, I'm from Illinois and stuff not as expensive out there. It affected our spending habits and we watch what we buy. There isn't anything we really do special, he brings home enough for us to have what we need and be able to save.

Military Community:
(How is the military community? Are there resources for family and spouses? Any likes or gripes? Additional thoughts?) I can't really say anything on this. I don't really hang out with any military people. Alot of the other wifes of the men hubby works with works. I'm still new at this Navy Wife thing, so I don't know if there are resources for family and spouses.

Recreation:
(What is there to do in the area for adults? For kids/families? Is there anything within a few hours driving distance?) For adults (and older children) there are race tracks. For kids there are boyscouts, girlscouts, boys/girls club, and sports.

Weather:
(What's the weather like? Mild? Seasonal? Hot? Humid? Rainy? Cold? Are there seasons?) HOT!! during the summer and about average in the winter. We don't get alot of precipitation of any kind cause of the mountains. But thankfully.. NO HUMIDITY!!!

Overall:
(Would you go back again? Why or why not? What are your main likes and gripes?) If I had to I would. But would I choose to come here? NO! It's in the middle of the freakin' desert. I want green and trees.

Housing:
(How is military housing there? Which area did you live in and did you like it? Is it affordable to buy or rent in town and if so what areas would you recommend? Any additional thoughts?)
Yes, I live in Houseing and we like it here, we are in the Mountain View Housing and these are the newest ones built on the base. We have found we couldn't get a place this size and pay for all of our utilities with our BAH so we don't move to town and now with the price of gas its not worth it either. To Buy a house your looking atleast 165K or more for a 2 bedroom..here in Fallon theres really no good place to live or bad, its a small rural farming town

Schools:
(Which schools did your kids attend? Did you like them? Did your kids like them? How do you think the school system was overall? Any schools you would recommend over others? Did you go to college while you were there? If so, which college and how did you like it? Any additional thoughts?)
Aarons not in school so I can't say what school is good or not

Shopping:
(How are the commissary and NEX? Do you shop there or out in town? What stores are available out in town? What is the local shopping like? Malls? Any places you recommend? Any additional thoughts?)
Commissary is average size, they really don't offer alot of different thing, I shop between the commissary and Super Wal-Mart, I have found that Walmart has lower prices on things then the commissary, the Nex is very small we don't shop there that often, as for town we have a Safeway, Raleys and Super Walmart..thats it so if you want anything else you have to drive to Reno which is an hour away

Cost of living:
(What is the cost of living like? High? Average? Low? How did it effect your family? Was there anything special you had to do to make ends meet? Any additional thoughts?)
The COL is average/high here housing is costly and groceries are higher priced, but they know that you have to buy here or your heading to Reno. Just watch the ad papers for sales and use coupons to save money

Military Community:
(How is the military community? Are there resources for family and spouses? Any likes or gripes? Additional thoughts?)
This base isn't very family, but then again there is only about 1500 AD attached here, there are on spouses groups so its very hard to meet other spouses unless you live next to them. As for resources we have the Fleet and Family Support and thats it. Its a very small base so they don't have alot of extras that you will find at your bigger bases.

Recreation:
(What is there to do in the area for adults? For kids/families? Is there anything within a few hours driving distance?)
Thers tons to do here as long as you like the outdoors, for dirt biking we have Sand Mountain, we have Lake Tahoe 90 minutes away for snow sking or water sking, we have lakes here in town for fishing and water sking, Las Vegas is 6 hours away, Sacramento is 3 1/2 hours away, San Fransisco is 5 Hours away, Reno and Carson City are an hour away. The base itself has Go Cart's, driving range, Paint Ball Course, Horse Stables, Free movies (new releases), Library, plus MWR gives away free concert tickets all the time, they offer trips all the time to different places and ball games too..so there is alot to do here. In the summer the town has a Farmers market that is so much fun and in the fall one of the local farms has a pumpkin patch and the make a corn maze too

Weather:
(What's the weather like? Mild? Seasonal? Hot? Humid? Rainy? Cold? Are there seasons?)
You see all seasons here in Fallon, the summers are very HOT since you live in the desert and cold with snow in the winter since we are in the high desert. Fall is pretty because of all the trees and spring is very beautiful aswell.

Overall:
(Would you go back again? Why or why not? What are your main likes and gripes?)
I would come back here again, I love it here, its a great place to raise a family
