View Full Version : Question about "A" School delays. Miss Packer Fan 02-20-2008, 01:47 AM How long are they usually? Here's the situation...df is going to Jacksonville, FL on friday, and they said 2 months?? Is it really that long of a delay? Shep's Wife 02-20-2008, 01:49 AM I wish I could ask dh, but he is sleeping and would kill me if I woke him up to ask :giggle It could be something as simple as they need more instructors or the class before his got held up because some one got into trouble. MissOHara 02-20-2008, 01:57 AM they delay whatever for however long because they have in their contract that they cant make you train for a job you didnt agree to or send you to a place you didnt agree too. This IS Navy right? Navy is the only one I know with A-school. But yeah, they sit on it because if they make you do anything else you have the right to be honorably discharged. Thats what I heard from the recruiter and from people leaving for boot rosebud* 02-20-2008, 08:09 AM there could be a lot of people going to that A school and there just isn't room for him yet. Sometimes they say 2 months but it could really be just 2 weeks. it depends. MissAmyB 02-20-2008, 08:43 AM I agree, it could just be b/c there are so many people at the A school, and they can only have so many classes going at once. When I was in the Navy, I got to my A school at the beginning of December and didn't "class up" until February. So he could be waiting around for 2 months. jbenoit3122 02-20-2008, 09:14 PM so if there's an "a" school delay-- that means he gets to come home?? |
