Went to patient advocate because my phone calls to the team nurse are not getting returned...amazing what talking to them will get you :yes. Not even 2 hours later I get a call from the nurse.

Put my request in for a referal for a full blood workup with a hematologist....time to think outside the box people!!!

Should hear an answer tomorrow..if it does not go my way then I will take the fight to Tricare for a second opinion with a civie doc :yes

Any advice on what to say and not to say....what to ask and what to request...any of that good stuff...would be greatly appreciated :grin:

Good luck Judy. Arent the patient advocates awesome? Umm if it isnt the blood thingy make sure they send you to a neurologist to maybe have a nerve conduction test. I never had one b/c when I was diagnosed it wasnt well known how to test or treat plus most of my doctors were morons. If they send you to physical therapy ask them about aqua therapy and a TENs unit. I looooove my TENs, I can still use it during pregnancy for pain management. Just stay on top of them and take care of yourself! Oh and call me, text me, or IM me if you need ANYTHING!

GOt my neuro appt March 14 at Walter Reed :yes....Bethesda didn't have anything until April :grumpy


BTW....little known fact ladies...if you can not get an appt with a specialist within a 28 day window then you will be refered to a civie specialist no matter how close you live to a base. That was a good thing to learn yesterday

Hopefully between the two they can figure it out for you. Make them keep running tests till they figure it out and you have a treatment plan. WHen will you have the MRA?

I have to call tomorrow to get my referal....since monday was a holiday it didn't count towards my 2 day wait...so we shall see.

If I were you I would call your referal line and tell them that you can't get in within the 28 day window and that you want to start the process to be seen in town. If they say no then call tricare :yes

oh Judy sweetie I just wish you good luck with getting to who you need to see so they can figure out whats causing this. I know its got to be so frustrating to you.
