I bought OTC Prenatal Vitamins (OneSource) because everyone was advising me I need to be on them even though my first appt isn't until March 11th. Anyway... since I've started taking them they make me feel horrible!!! Yesterday I didn't take them until the afternoon and realized I feel fine before taking them. I haven't taken them yet today and I almost don't want to so I can actually get some housework done without being constantly exhausted and nauseated. Any suggestions????

Flintstones Vitamins. That's what my doctor said to take because I couldn't take prenatals because of the horrible morning sickness that I had.

Take them before bed, I take the ones that Walmart sells, my doc told me to, and even if I take them a few hours before bed I dont have any problems with them. I wouldnt switch to flinstones until your doctor tells you how much and if he/she is ok with those. good luck.

I use an otc vitamin, I take it right before bed and haven't had any problems. You can also take 2 flintstones. But yeah, you should definitely be taking them even if you haven't had an appointment yet.

I could never take the prenatals because the iron content is too high and made me very sick (nausea, just horrible stomach issues all around) so I got permission from my doctor to switch to a regular women's one a day and an additional folic acid supplement. I agree with everyone else though, you definitely need your vitamins :yes

:yes I take the Flinstone's Complete since the others made me so sick. Vitamins have always destroyed my stomach though and left me sick :sick

My midwife actually told me not even to bother with the prenatals since they were doing horrible things to me. She said my diet is good, so she isn't concerned. She just made sure that I continued to take a folic acid supplement everyday.

If you o take the flinstone ones make sure you are taking the folic acid extra. You need that for the developement of the baby.

I take the prenatal at night and took them when we decided to start trying.

Sometimes prenatals can make you sick, ALWAYS take them with food. I took them without food before and they make me feel horrible! Also I was told it's a good idea to take them at night, like right after dinner. If you eat something with them and still feel sick, try to take Flinstone vitamins or call your OB. Good luck!
