So has anyone heard when they are going to be posting the results of who made board from the Jan exam? I would think that it should be soon, but I really hate waiting.

I asked this a week or so ago and was told around March 1st

It's usually early March. Don't write it off Froglove! My DH was taking the test to hopefully get to do an LDO packet. He made board (we were amazed) and actually made Chief too. First year up, so you never know!!

That just means they won't post a big list like the did in the past, but you can look at your NKO to see if you made it personally.

YES! lord yes.........I think though once I knew he made board and then it hit about August time frame it was AWFUL. I was constantly checking online and actually found the results posted online before HE knew. He doesn't know I found out first though........I wouldn't take that away from him.

I would love to know where you looked to find out ahead of time. I know that I knew DH made board last year about 2 days before he or the command did, but I can't find where I was able to do that this year.:dunno:vent

Nope, haven't heard anything.. :D They should be out by mid month though, like usual.

same for us, with moving and all the stress of that we totally forgot about it, basically until i saw people posting about results. lol

For some reason I was all about it, and wanting to get the results... and then *POOF* I completely forgot for a few weeks. That's a nice feeling, to know that you are a few weeks closer to the results, without a few weeks' worth of worrying. :giggle

I'm planning on being as helpful as possible to this year's selectee spouses.. and am going to volunteer at the spouse symposium here in SD. From my personal experience, the wives weren't as helpful as they could have been. (Sponsor's wife and such) and his command was useless... they did the BARE minimum..

We PCS'd and were getting settled in during the time right before packages were getting ready for submission, and were still trying to settle in here when selectee results came out.

Being in housing, we don't need yard work or maintenance done, but they sure could change the oil in our cars, like G and his fellow selects did for one Chief last year. I kept telling them, they'd make more money at the carwashes if they offered detailing, like vacuuming and armor-alling..

I'm anxious to see how many his command has this year. There were 12 from his command, and 3 divers who went through it with them...

Some of the guys last year ended up doing A LOT of yardwork.. moving rocks, and lanscaping out here.. in the heat... G got lucky, he worked the carwash that weekend..LOL. He's at a shore command so unless someone's IA, there won't be any spouses that need help.. The golf tourney should be fun, considering G hasn't played in YEARS.. :lmao

I'm looking forward to seeing what all they come up with this year.. G said they've already met a couple times to discuss/plan.

LOL....But stay busy and don't even think about it, because it will likely be early August or so before you hear anything else again. DH had so much fun last year as a PT CPO and working in other capacities with the selectees and he is looking forward to it again this year.

Mine called about an hour ago so hopefully you will be getting a call soon too. I know the waiting is frustrating.

my hubby just called me to tell me he passed again so now its just waiting on the board to convene in June and do another waiting game. The thing is we will be transferring in August and thats when he will find out so if he does make chief finally this year it will be on shore and I know I will never hardly see him LOL. Good thing we are moving back to VA so I can have my family and friends for company. LOL

Hey, first times a charm for some.. ;) Congrats on his passing the exam!

My DH called...:sigh He missed it by 12 points.:whatever This was his first time and he was really excited. I feel so bad for him!! I just told me that he has been in for 8 years, is only 27 yrs old and is an E-6! Thats quite an accomplishment in itself.

My DH didn't make it. :sigh Here we go again.

Haven't heard from DH yet. He passed it last year first time up but he thought this year's test was much harder.

DH is 13 hrs ahead so he's probably already in bed. :(

Congrats to all of those who made board and sorry to those that didn't. DH made it, but we really weren't thinking about it since we are in the middle of the SOY week here in Norfolk. I am truely sorry to hear the news of those that do not make board because I know how hard it is to take.

Now the real wait comes as we won't know any more until August.

This was dh's first time up at bat, and he was off by quite a bit. For the most part, he doesn't seem to care. He's only upset that they have his eval average wrong - they didn't include his November eval which is his best one ever. :shrug Bummer.

I'm confused. DB said he won't find out till March 20th. We just got off the phone and he was looking to see if he was wrong because I told him about his thread. But he confirmed that the results are on the 20th. He said those in the Reserves find out now though. That's the only reason he can figure out how you guys know. Okay...now I'm really confused! When I told him that everyone knew how many points they were short he got confused cause he said E7 doesn't go by points. Any thoughts? Or is DB just really mistaken? He said there and went read out loud when everything was going to be released and it said the 20th. He then googled military forums to see what I read (I was in the car) and those forums said the 20th.

As a CPO (E7) he an stay in 26 yrs, so we'll be doing that.. and should he make Sr. Chief (E8) we'd stay 30. 40 scares me though.. I don't want to be in our 50s starting completely from scratch.

Just curious Cat. You know if your DH gets selected that he very well may LOSE those orders to VA right?! Just depends what kind of billet it is.
