I would think that it should be soon, but I really hate waiting. Kym 02-21-2008, 03:32 PM I asked this a week or so ago and was told around March 1st rosebud* 02-21-2008, 03:53 PM They won't come out till at least March. froglove 02-21-2008, 04:03 PM March isnt that far away!!!! We think dh passed the test but he wont make board. Good luck to all the guys who do make board! Angie 02-21-2008, 04:37 PM I don't think they are posting the board results anymore....now the command ESO must go to the web page available at Naval Personnel Command to see who is elidgable / made board. Click on the following link to read about it: http://www.npc.navy.mil/Boards/ActiveDutyEnlisted/CPO+Selection+Boards.htm petsparkle 02-21-2008, 04:40 PM March isnt that far away!!!! We think dh passed the test but he wont make board. Good luck to all the guys who do make board! It's usually early March. Don't write it off Froglove! My DH was taking the test to hopefully get to do an LDO packet. He made board (we were amazed) and actually made Chief too. First year up, so you never know!! Good luck to everyone!! Sarah 02-21-2008, 04:45 PM Dh told me sometime in March. The waiting is making me nuts :lol. lemc81 02-21-2008, 04:47 PM My DB told me March too. I wish we could find out sooner!! MelissaMc424 02-21-2008, 04:47 PM Results aren't out usually until March.. I feel for you ladies who are waiting... once the exam results are out, and your DH's are getting packages ready.. the real wait begins... :hugs rosebud* 02-21-2008, 04:48 PM I don't think they are posting the board results anymore....now the command ESO must go to the web page available at Naval Personnel Command to see who is elidgable / made board. I'm looking forward to having a VERY clean car for 6 weeks..:giggle And I agree with you.. even if I had found out before DH, I wouldn't have stolen his "moment"... I still remember how excited he was on the phone when he called to tell me... We weren't stressing it, and I don't even think he was checking for results.. Good luck ladies and gentlemen! knockouttrish 03-06-2008, 06:50 PM So has anyone seen any results come out yet? I have seen on another board that someone said that the exam results were out, but the profile sheets are not updated. Good luck to all those that are waiting. Kristen 03-06-2008, 07:47 PM I totally forgot about this! :duh Well, that sure made the waiting easier! :giggle MelissaMc424 03-06-2008, 08:50 PM I totally forgot about this! :duh Well, that sure made the waiting easier! :giggle That's how I was last year.. Neither one of us stressed it, and sure enough that was his year. Good luck again ladies! Kristen 03-06-2008, 10:20 PM For some reason I was all about it, and wanting to get the results... and then *POOF* I completely forgot for a few weeks. Good luck ladies and gentlemen! haha I was JUST thinking how I can't wait to have a super clean car in August/September! I'll definitely be there to help out.......there were a few great wives when my hubby made it last year and I want to return the favor. That phone call is one of the most amazing moments....... I'll definitely be there to help out.......there were a few great wives when my hubby made it last year and I want to return the favor. That phone call is one of the most amazing moments....... I'm planning on being as helpful as possible to this year's selectee spouses.. and am going to volunteer at the spouse symposium here in SD. From my personal experience, the wives weren't as helpful as they could have been. (Sponsor's wife and such) and his command was useless... they did the BARE minimum.. We PCS'd and were getting settled in during the time right before packages were getting ready for submission, and were still trying to settle in here when selectee results came out. wb3690 03-06-2008, 11:40 PM Oh I have heard possibly the 10th? Good luck all! MelissaMc424 03-06-2008, 11:41 PM Oh I have heard possibly the 10th? Good luck all! hmm... that's Monday.. not too long at all! I figured they'd be out by the 15th.. JulieM 03-07-2008, 08:17 AM I have also heard the 10th. Kaymara 03-07-2008, 09:31 AM My husband got an email saying the 10th and the 12th for those who had to take the test late. navycorpsmanwife 03-08-2008, 09:57 AM :worry:xfingers Dragonfly76 03-08-2008, 11:46 AM :yes We'll be doing our part to help the selectees from his command though.. We're going to save some money up so we can have some yard work done or maybe paint my bathroom. :woot Being in housing, we don't need yard work or maintenance done, but they sure could change the oil in our cars, like G and his fellow selects did for one Chief last year. I kept telling them, they'd make more money at the carwashes if they offered detailing, like vacuuming and armor-alling.. I'm anxious to see how many his command has this year. There were 12 from his command, and 3 divers who went through it with them... wb3690 03-08-2008, 03:17 PM Being in housing, we don't need yard work or maintenance done, but they sure could change the oil in our cars, like G and his fellow selects did for one Chief last year. There were 12 from his command, and 3 divers who went through it with them... ohhh detailing is a good idea too. yeah we have everything done for us at our house too, but I am sure if DH is home he'll find something. last year he built/painted shelves, installed an a/c unit, took a spouses car in for an oil change/tire rotation/safety inspection (she paid, but he took it up there and waited and waited, her husband was on det and she needed man work done), ummm several other odd jobs.....oh gosh one group had to move rocks and they were HUGE rocks from the backyard cliff thing of one guys house off base.......haha fun times! Some of the guys last year ended up doing A LOT of yardwork.. moving rocks, and lanscaping out here.. in the heat... G got lucky, he worked the carwash that weekend..LOL. He's at a shore command so unless someone's IA, there won't be any spouses that need help.. The golf tourney should be fun, considering G hasn't played in YEARS.. :lmao I'm looking forward to seeing what all they come up with this year.. G said they've already met a couple times to discuss/plan. Hisgirl 03-09-2008, 01:42 AM Fingers crossed, fingers crossed...DH thought the exam was harder this year than last. UGG... flangl18 03-09-2008, 11:43 AM Well, good luck to all you ladies waiting to see if your spouse made board...then you get to wait allllll over again.....it sucks! LOL....But stay busy and don't even think about it, because it will likely be early August or so before you hear anything else again. DH had so much fun last year as a PT CPO and working in other capacities with the selectees and he is looking forward to it again this year. aubrey 03-09-2008, 08:16 PM Ohh, I'm hoping its the 10th! JulieM 03-10-2008, 09:31 AM It's the 10th, and they are available! Good luck to those waiting for the results!! Julie =) Kristen 03-10-2008, 09:40 AM Oh man... I want to know bad! Call dh! Call! flangl18 03-10-2008, 09:44 AM Well good luck to those waiting to see if they make board or not, then the real waiting game begins...LOL....they won't post the eligiblity list on Bupers any more, so can't check there.... navycorpsmanwife 03-10-2008, 10:16 AM Oh man... I want to know bad! Call dh! Call! Mine called about an hour ago so hopefully you will be getting a call soon too. I know the waiting is frustrating. sunshyne 03-10-2008, 10:28 AM where can we check to see if our dh's passed the test? Cat 03-10-2008, 11:05 AM my hubby just called me to tell me he passed again so now its just waiting on the board to convene in June and do another waiting game. The thing is we will be transferring in August and thats when he will find out so if he does make chief finally this year it will be on shore and I know I will never hardly see him LOL. Good thing we are moving back to VA so I can have my family and friends for company. LOL MelissaMc424 03-10-2008, 11:35 AM Good luck to those going up for selection board! LOL Hopefully the results come out early enough, and they let him PCS during initiation...Do you guys know what days in August you'll be leaving? Good luck! Cat 03-10-2008, 11:58 AM oh they better let him PCS before initiation. We will be leaving here around August 1st and I know the results wont be out by the time we leave here. We cant wait because the whole purpose in us PCSing in August is so we can get to VA before Robbie has to start Kindergarten because we refuse to put him in school down here only to have to yank him out and move and put him in a new school and this boy has some troubles with transition. so I am sure we will be out of here before chief initiation if he makes it. Kaymara 03-10-2008, 01:03 PM He needs to ask. They will no longer be online for us. Or he can log into his NKO and check there froglove 03-10-2008, 01:20 PM OK he emailed me and said he got an email from headquarters congratulating him on his eligibility and with information on how to prepare and where to send his cheif's package! :yay im gladd he passed!!!! Mac'sSunshine 03-10-2008, 02:16 PM My DH called...:sigh He missed it by 12 points.:whatever This was his first time and he was really excited. I feel so bad for him!! I just told me that he has been in for 8 years, is only 27 yrs old and is an E-6! Thats quite an accomplishment in itself. aubrey 03-10-2008, 02:24 PM My DH didn't make it. :sigh Here we go again. Hisgirl 03-10-2008, 02:35 PM Haven't heard from DH yet. He passed it last year first time up but he thought this year's test was much harder. DH is 13 hrs ahead so he's probably already in bed. :( **edited to add** Yeah!! :cp He made it...now we have to wait until August! OMG...:oogle sunshyne 03-10-2008, 02:43 PM My dh said he is in no hurry to find out...I guess he is still really bummed about not making it last time :dunno Hopefully he will find out later. Cat 03-10-2008, 03:12 PM oh Jessica I sure hope he made it this time. He needs to feel good about that. I am praying he made it. froglove 03-10-2008, 03:15 PM Well they emailed dh back saying hes not board eligeable. He passed the test but not enough points. Oh well maybe next year. Guess that first email was to congrats everyone. Aww, I'm so sorry. That sucks that first he heard he made board and now they say he didn't. :hugs froglove 03-10-2008, 03:53 PM yeah it sucked to hear one thing and then get told something else. :sigh oh well knockouttrish 03-10-2008, 04:47 PM Congrats to all of those who made board and sorry to those that didn't. DH made it, but we really weren't thinking about it since we are in the middle of the SOY week here in Norfolk. I am truely sorry to hear the news of those that do not make board because I know how hard it is to take. Now the real wait comes as we won't know any more until August. Kristen 03-10-2008, 05:03 PM This was dh's first time up at bat, and he was off by quite a bit. For the most part, he doesn't seem to care. He's only upset that they have his eval average wrong - they didn't include his November eval which is his best one ever. :shrug Bummer. lemc81 03-10-2008, 05:07 PM I'm confused. DB said he won't find out till March 20th. We just got off the phone and he was looking to see if he was wrong because I told him about his thread. But he confirmed that the results are on the 20th. He said those in the Reserves find out now though. That's the only reason he can figure out how you guys know. Is everyone that posted today in the Reserves? Hisgirl 03-10-2008, 05:09 PM Nope. DH is AD. lemc81 03-10-2008, 05:13 PM Nope. DH is AD. Okay...now I'm really confused! When I told him that everyone knew how many points they were short he got confused cause he said E7 doesn't go by points. Any thoughts? Or is DB just really mistaken? He said there and went read out loud when everything was going to be released and it said the 20th. He then googled military forums to see what I read (I was in the car) and those forums said the 20th. MelissaMc424 03-10-2008, 05:14 PM I'm confused. DB said he won't find out till March 20th. LOL The first part of E-7 is the test, getting enough points to "make board" (you can pass the test but not have enough points to be eligible/make board), then putting in their package for selection (which their service record gets combed over) and then only a few get selected. We actually find out in August now. I think I have the order right for E-7. In Navy life, it's pretty much the biggest deal in an enlisted sailor's career. He's been in 10 and his body is about done and done. Of course he could always get a desk job but...I think he'll just go into a different line of work. That's great that you guys only have 6 1/2 years left till the 20 year mark! Y'all will have a big decision in front of you then. Okay, running out to hit the gym. Have a good evening!
