:giggle I feel like such a L&D noob...

With DD I was induced 3 weeks early so I never did lose my mucous plug. So out of curiousity - for those of you that have had babies - how long after you lost your plug did labor start?

This is freakin exciting :lol

P.S. Forgot to add, go in if your water breaks or contractions are about 5-10 min apart. Sometimes they don't tell you that! Don't forget to eat before you go in! Good luck!! =)

Thanks for the replies girls :) So basically...it's just an indicator that things are on track. Labor is not particularly imminent :giggle

I remember how hungry I was after delivering Paige, after not having eaten all day long...but I'm a little concerned about - shall we say - unexpected bodily functions occuring during labor. I think I'd rather go hungry. :giggle

For the most part. But it dawned on me last night that he has a closet full of clothes on hangers with tags. Guess I'll be taking care of that today and washing everything. Duh. The bassinette is on the way, we were going to buy it here but I couldn't find one I liked so I found one online. It will be here by Wednesday :giggle We still have the pack n play though with the drop in that makes it much like a large basinnette. I was just hoping for something on wheels.

Nah, you need that food for your strength. ;) I'd eat. The docs and nurses swoop that stuff away without you even realizing it happend.:blush

:lol I've worried about that every time... and I've given birth 3 times and have been lucky so far! I always ask Tony if I did and didn't realize it :lol

Keep moving if you want the baby to come down....the physical activity facilitates the baby moving down in the pelvis and staring the labor process (if you can move around). Keep yourself hydrated esp if your not eating much...try crackers though just to give yourslef something sometimes labor can be over a day or 2 so munch on a little something. I have a fear of the whole other end dispension too...I am like you will not be looking just in case it does happen but he is like come on....we arent close to it for now so Im not thinking about it too much but I wish you luck dear keep us updated as much as you can/want to

I lost mine last Thursday. Doc played with my membranes (nothing dirty :suspect) on Wednesday. Sometimes that will dislodge it.

TIFFANY!!!! Hi!!! How've you been?!?

Well ladies, either way I'm being induced tomorrow - and to be quite honest - this little boy has been a stubborn little one from week 6. Just when I go and plan on an induction tomorrow wouldn't it be just like him to change my plans all up.

I think this is a sign of things to come :rofl

:agree I had a sandwich while driving to the hospital. :giggle

To the original question, it was 4 days after losing it before labor.

for me I started losing mine around 34 weeks and then REALLY lost all the day I had him and the night before. So not much longer :yay

Well, I THINK (could be wrong) there is a difference in what's happening with the muscous and then the bloody show...I believe you can lose your muscous plug at anytime and it doesn't mean you are about to go into labor BUT if you have a bloody show, than that means your about to go into labor. :shrug

For me, I lost my plug and bled about a few days or a week before my water broke with Gabby...For this one, the water broke and then I started to have light bleeding (didn't see the mucous until I was at the hospital).
