not answering my phone????? :gaah

I really didn't know where to post this...but i guess i'll do it here...this morning Dh's chief called to check up on DD well my phone was downstairs and we didn't hear it...we slept in...

So when we check the msg. and i find it's DH's chief...i ask him if he wants me to call him back and DH get's all pissy he said "i'm prolly in trouble cause you never answer your phone"...I try to answer my phone as much as possible..but if i'm upstairs and the phone's downstairs sometimes i don't hear it right away and can't make it in time..and this time i was asleep...:dunno what else i can do..

Anyway i ask what he meant he said that his petty(sp?) officer said something to him(my DH) that everytime he (the petty officer) tries to call i never answer...i HAVE NO IDEA when he ever tried to call and i've never recieved any msgs.....so i really don't know what all this is about...? can Dh really get in trouble if i don't answer my phone? So as of today my phone is glued to my body...

Oh and i called the Chief back just so everyone knows...he seemed really nice and he said he wanted to give DH the night off of school yesterday for gabbi's surgery cause he knows there are going to be times when we need him he won't be able to be there, so the chief had the power and wanted to take DH out of class for the night to spend time with the family...

If he was truly just checking up on her... call him back.. Chief's are not the evil devils they're made out to be. :wink

If it's not a command related issue, then NO your husband cannot get in trouble for YOU not answering the phone.

And i think as long you call back you should b fine.

Well i guess it would b different if he would not show up to work bc u guys overslept or whatever and u would not answer or refuse to answer!:dunno

yup. If he is calling YOU to talk to YOU then he can't get in trouble, if they are calling your phone because that is what your dh put as his main number then he can get in trouble especially if it is work related. The navy is less strict then the army about things like that.

I'm not sure if DH put my number as the main number...I'll have to ask..he might have...
DH has his number and I have mine...we don't have just one common house number...

what i don't understand is why the PETTY officer would call me anyway...Dh has said he's tried to call before .... :dunno

Then he needs to ensure they call HIS phone. Sounds like he wants to be able to blame you if he doesn't get a call he should get. JMO

it could have to do with your dh or maybe a question, or he could just be full of :poop and just saying that.
But like i said unless that is the number your dh put as his main call back number then you don't have to answer it. tell your dh to chill out he won't get in trouble.

The PO may have had a message to relay or might have been calling to check up on something... Could your DH's phone have been off or something, so he called yours since it's listed as well. There are lots of explanations, but get used to his Chain of command calling your cell, especially if there's not a reg. home number.. I get calls at home all the time asking for G.

They haven't figured him out yet..if he leaves and says see ya'll.. going to lunch.. he's coming back.. but if he says see y'all tomorrow, going to lunch.. he's gone for the day.. they always ask him what he's doing at work after lunch.. :giggle

If it was to check on your daughter, it made sense to call you, b/c your husband wouldn't have been home with her (if he was trying to give him the day off)... I don't think he can be in trouble for you not answering, because you could work full time or something else, but I would always try to call back just to be polite.

when df was home, he had to give at least one other phone number other then his every time he left base... and in order to sleep off base he had to give a land line. if someone called any of the numbers and no one answered then yes, he was in trouble.
it seemed pretty intense... but i guess maybe it had something them deploying. prolli just keeping tabs making sure no one went awol.
i would doubt in a normal everyday situation that he could get in trouble for you not answering. unless maybe if they called him first and he didn't answer either.

I dont think you could get in trouble, that would just be kinda odd in my opinion. I would definitely make sure that they didnt have your number as a contact if its that big of a deal.:dunno
