Does EVERYONE get it? If you got it, when did it show up? (the dark line from your pubic bone to wherever...naval or higher)

I have it.....and sincew i got preggers again with DD2 so fast (dd1 was 4 months) i don't know when it goes away...but mine was WAY lighter when i got preggers again

I didnt get it. Neither did my friend. I used to joke with her that we just looked like we had beer bellies cuz we didnt get huge or anything, never had the dark line, and our belly buttons never popped :lol I remember trying on lingerie and thinking I looked horrible cuz I looked like a had a huge beer gut and not a preggo belly :lmao

Not everyone gets them, I never have. If you do though, you will notice it start to fade a few weeks after birth.

I had it early in my 1st pregnancy, but this time around I just got it a few days ago and I'm 35 weeks, weird. Not everyone gets it, just like not everyone gets lovely stretch marks.

I just wondered if it grows more the later in pregnancy you get or not. I have one that is about 2 inches long, and I don't want it going any higher. It isn't real dark, and it is REAL low so no one can see it but me, but was just wondering about others.

i have it from my pelvic bone to my belly button, but its REALLY light....you cant really see it unless I point it out....

Not everyone or every pregnancy. I got it with Ethan from my sternum to my pubic region and it was dark. I didnt get any with Ashley

This darkening is caused by increases in estrogen and progesterone, which in turn step up production of the pigment melanin, a condition known as hyperpigmentation. Fair skinned women show linea negra less often than women with darker pigmentation. And some research suggests there may be a link between linea negra and insulin.

I got it lightly with both pregnancies somewhere early into the second trimester. I'm Greek, so my skin's a little olive. That may be why it showed up. But, I know it totally faded pretty immediately after the baby was born.

I had a light one w/ my first pregnancy and it appeared around the 8th month, I think...Took about 6-7 months to disappear (but I wasn't working out, so that might of had something to do w/ it since I had the flabby pouch)...With my 2nd pregnancy, I never got it.

I never got it with DS. I did get it with DD after I had her though...it showed up about a week after delivery and stayed till she was 2mths old.
