View Full Version : ? about graduation & stuff sailors bride 02-25-2008, 03:05 AM how many days do we get with are graduating sailors?i want to know how many days i need to book for a hotel when i go see my fiance graduate from bootcamp at the great lakes.i want to spend as much time as i can with him since i havent seen him in a while. were all should we go and do while im up there on his graduation? what hotel should i stay at close to the base? what should i wear i dont know what the weather is like up there? emmers 02-25-2008, 03:09 AM i heard that if hes going to a-school in great lakes then they get friay-sunday off....so i booked my hotel from friday through monday... im staying at the ramada... the grad pack comes with a list of hotels close by.. most have free shuttles to the graduation... He could have a "grad and go" which means he graduates and 2 hours later they put him on a plane to A school.. Although he could ship out saturday or sunday, i've heard ppl got to spend up till tuesday with their sailors. SOOOO...when your DF sends you a letter or talks to you on the phone, ask him to tell you when he's graduating and when hes being shipped to A school.. They should know, that way you can book the correct amount of days. Also, the navy lodge is within walking distance to the graduation, there is a shuttle though, and its only $56 a night if you were looking for a good deal but you have to book that as soon as you find out his grad date. you can also check this site, to see if they have his graduation date posted, sometimes they post it faster then your db can mail you a letter and tell you. http://www.nstc.navy.mil/rtcgl/family/upcominggrad.html for other info, just pm me and ask whatever you would like. |
