I have a question about health benefits, ladies can you please assist. I have my paperwork to get my id cards but cant get them done until April. I was reading that your id card is what you need to use when using your benefits what about when you are in a remote location?

I need to take my children to the doctor for check ups but have no idea if I am going to receive separate insurance cards or what.

Any help is much appreciated.

You will get insurance cards regardless. On prime remote your ID is just fine if you don't have them. I use that at my kids doctors and have never had a problem. just make sure it is a tricare approved doctor. question why can't you get your insurance done till april?

Cant get my id cards until april because they make appts and that is the soonest I can get. I guess because I am not near a base.

hmm you don't need a full on base to get them reserve bases work just fine. Actually anywhere there is a PSD you can get them done. You are getting shafted I think. that doesn't sound right.

Has your DH already enrolled you guys in DEERS? You can have all the paperwork in the world, but unless you are in DEERS, they wont do anything.

If you are in DEERS, and you need to be seen by the dr before you can get your ID and enroll in Prime (if that is what you choose).... you are covered under tricare standard (as long as you are in DEERS). All the dr's office needs is your's DH's social, name and bday. They can call tricare to verify that you are covered.
