OK, So I'm 39 weeks and 4 days today and at my appt today they decided to induce me on Thursday (my due date), but because my cervix is still closed, they want me in Wednesday night to get Cervadil, theyn they'll start the pitocin the next morning. Has anyone ever gone through this? It's my first baby, and he's had quite a few problems in the last couple months so I'm scared either this won't work or, well, or that it will and he'll be here Thursday or Friday, haha. Any feedback I would so so so appreciate!!!!

I was induced with my first and it was very smooth and no problems at all. I went into labor on my own i with my 2nd and would have rather have been induced lol Had a C-section with my 3rd and that wasn't bad either.

I was induced with my son but I didnt have cervadil(sp) I only had pitocin. It took me forever to progress and it was a long induction 27.5 hours. Good luck.

All 3 of my boys were induced. I only had Pitocin because I was already dilating on my own. I personally like the control of an induction.

Good luck!!

I was induced with #2. However we didn't need cervadil, I had been 3cm dialated for nearly a month at that point so only pitocin was needed. I will be honest with you, it was HORRIBLE!!! Once the contractions started they came fast and hard and one on tp of the other. However, it only lasted 3 hours. Good luck!

I was induced with my dd. However I was only on pitocin. I was in labor for 15 hours. and was on alot of pain till I got an epi. After that it was smooth sailing. You will be fine.

I was induced but only with pitocin (was 5 days overdue) and the only downside was that labor took forever. It may have been like that if I had gone into labor naturally too though I guess. I labored for about 23.5 hours. I got an epi about halfway through though and everything was great!

I was induced and I had to get both. All I can say is it's not bad, of course it's kind of scary because you have no idea what to expect but other then that it's a good process for most women. I had to walk for 6 1/2 hours around the hospital to finally get my cervix going somewhere and actually start my labor but all together it was a good experience for me.

I went through the very same thing, and ended up with a C section, because DD and I didn't respond to labor very well... (1 in 4 births is a C even without being induced)... Good luck!

That's just what I'm afraid of-it won't work and they'll send me on home, haha. Because I'm not dilated at all, although my cervix is thinning, is what I was told today. Or do a C-section. I'm not really afraid of having a c-section, its more that my husband and I are going to want more kids someday and I've read you generally shouldn't have more then 3 after a c-section.

i was induced with dd but only had pitocin. Everything went fine minus a little mishap with the epi but it all turned out ok. From the time I got to the hospital to the time I delivered I was only in labor for about 8.5 hours. Not too bad for being induced I dont think. I am sure everything will be just fine for you!

I was induced 10 days late with ds. I didn't have to have the cervadil because they said I was "ripe" lol. So I just had the pitocin. Lets just say I never felt one single contraction until 8 hours later when they broke my water. But it went really quick. I had an epidural, but probably could have gone without. But after they broke my water my son was born 4.5 hours later. It wasn't bad at all. Don't worry. I know it's hard to calm the nerves when you have an exact date for labor, but try to relax. And good luck. I hope your labor is as quick as mine was!! It was a peice of cake.

I was induce with DD since I was 13 days late with her. I was scared to death but at the same time I was glad to be finished w/ being pregnant. It was a good thing that they induced me because DD was 8lbs 13oz.

It went fine, they gave me some pain meds first that did not work at all. Once I got the epi I was in heaven. I did end up having a c-section after almost 15 hours of labor

I was induced with my last baby. I was 8 days past my due date and not dilated at all. I got 2 cytotecs (the first being at 11 a.m. and second at 5 p.m.). At 5 p.m. I was still not dilated at all. Around 6:30 p.m. I could tell my contractions were getting stronger and at 8 the nurse checked me again. I was 4cms. By 10:15 p.m. I had him. It took about 15 minutes, if that, to push him out. My other 2 labors were 19 1/2 hours and 24 hours so this one was quick. I did get an epi but it didn't work so I felt everything. Luckily though it was only about 30 minutes that was painful. Pushing actually helped the pain so that was good. Good Luck hun.
