I had posted this in Cori's Swing thread but I'm not sure if anyone saw it so I'm going to ask again.:teehee
Ladies I have a question for you. Several of you mentioned that you wanted a swing for upstairs and one downstairs. Why? Do you really spend that much time upstairs?
I'm curious because we also have a 2 story house. We still have our Fisher Price Aquarium swing, that we planned on using downstairs (where I spend most of my time). We also have the small portable swing that we'll be keeping upstairs, so that I can jump in the shower or if I'm putting away clothes. But realistically, I don't spend that much time upstairs. Right now I can't justify buying another swing.
So, tell me why do you ladies need another one upstairs? I want to know if there is something that I'm missing or not thinking of. It's been 2 1/2 years since we've had a "baby" and I feel like I'm forgeting things already!

I don't think I could do it either but I don't live in a 2 story either. I can see having the big swing in the area you are in most and maybe a portable in the other.

I actually never had a swing upstairs when we had a two story house. i never had a need to go upstairs unless i was showering or going to bed. If she happened to be awake while i needed a shower I just put her in the bouncy seat or left her in the crib. if she cried she cried till i got out of the shower.

I had two basinetts but not two swings. Not like he ever let me put him down anyway(Eli).

I do spend a lot of time upstairs. I also cant lift nor carry anything heavy (nerve damage in right arm) up and down the stairs which is at a weird angle. You walk up a few steps then its a sharp left. I lose my balance on those stairs b/c of the angle often.

All 3 of my kids slept in their swing because of reflux, that's why I have 2. I'm in a 1 story now and will still have 2, I don't want to carry the heavy thing from room to room. I only had 1 for Alex and Cameron and I always ended up sleeping on the couch because it was easier than bringing the swing to my room and then back to the livingroom in the morning. So with Wyatt I made sure I had 2.

We had a swing upstairs and downstairs... My son went through a period where he refused to sleep laying down in his crib, so he slept in his swing. He loved it, because it rocked him. We hated lugging it up and down the stairs every day, so we bought one of those little Take Along swings for downstairs. It also came in handy for trips. It folds up, so we took it with us a lot of places.

I thought about getting a 2nd one since we also have 2 floors in our house... but I decided against it. My dd really only used the swing at night, so we just kept it in the bedroom. When we were downstairs in the family room we mostly used the papasan seat or just had her play on the floor so we never needed the swing down there.

I will also just add do what works for you. only one time did we have a 2 story house so getting a second swing wasn't a big thing and the one stories were soo teeny that it was pointless to buy more then one because I was usually in the kitchen or living room so lugging it was no issue for me. But i had really easy kids, swing or bouncy seat they could care less.
