Is anyone else looking for a new camera for baby? I'm afraid that the one I have isn't good enough. Which ones are you looking at right now?

Is it good?? The one I have now is good for tourism and still pics, but when you have a baby who is constantly moving, and you want to catch everything, you don't have time to wait for the camera to "situate" itself.

Nope, I have the digital Rebel by Canon so I will just be using that. I do want a camcorder since my parents are in CA and the ILs are in CO.

What lenses to you have? I would suggest a 'telephoto' lens, only because some pics are taken without the knowledge of the kiddo (or they start to pose for them!) and sometimes the further back you are, the better!

Maybe I'll get one that is a camcorder and a still shot camera.

I have had a Sony, Nikon and 2 canon cameras. I wouldn't recommend Sony or Nikon...I LOVE both my Canon point and shoot camera AND my Canon digital SLR camera. Just one suggestion with what ever you decide...GET ONE WITH IMAGE STABILATITION.

second the nikon d40. I love it. really good camera and super easy to use.

I also have a canon sd800 for places we go that I don't want to take the nikon, but I don't really like that camera as much. it takes great outdoor shots, but crappy indoor shots.

I have a sony hdd camcorder and I love it. super easy to use no discs, tapes etc to record on.......it just plugs into the recharger and you can burn discs right there or edit them and make them. simple!
