View Full Version : Coming home right after BCT??? Hmmmm :)
letgo0527 02-26-2008, 11:26 PM Here is dh's situation...he's due to graduate BCT on April 18...but he's supposed to report to AIT on April 14. See where the dates don't add up :suspect?? Well, I was talking to dh on Sunday (like always :bliss) and he was saying that his drill serg. was telling him that sometimes, if you're national guard, when you don't start AIT on time they send you home for green phase for awhile. Anybody heard of this happening?? I'm trying to get my hopes up but I'm :pray that he gets to come home for the birth of our dd. Do you think they would send him home?? Or do you think they would just have him start AIT a week late??? I would be so happy :sex:kissy:attack:hula
Laura418 02-26-2008, 11:31 PM He graduates the 18th, but has to report the 14th? uhhh maybe that's a typo. Well, I'm not sure how the army does it, but I'm hoping he gets some time off for you ^_^! I would think the birth of his child would be enough to give him time off, but you never know...

not to the military, especially not at boot camp.
That could just mean he will have to report right away to AIT. did he have another grad date before the 18th? or was that his first.

that is kinda screwy. So does that mean he leaves his RTC before graduation? weeeiiird

No that's his first. He went out there Jan 24th, but he was in processing for 2 weeks so they got a late start, not 100% sure why.

Yeah I pretty much figured they wouldn't give time off for babies :p Sorry letgo >_<

I have no idea. Because isn't the last week when they do all the final tests?? I don't think he CAN leave before graduation.

Oh he's not asking for time off, lol. What I'm saying is because he might not be able to start AIT on time because of his graduation date, would they send him home until the next course starts up?? In the national guard they call the period between BCT and AIT :quote green phase :quote I've come to terms with the fact that he's not going to be here for the birth, but if some miracle happened and he could be....I'd be so happy..lol. But if not...:dunno oh well.

that is probably why, i bet he just hasn't gotten updated orders. Since they had him starting earlier then he actually did.
letgo0527 02-26-2008, 11:50 PM I hope his updated orders are happy orders :D :pray

Hmmm.. not sure. Depends on how much time he gets off I guess? Sorry I'm not much help >.< Way new to this, and my db is Navy- after graduation, they get "Liberty" where they can't stray too far from base, but can spend all day away from it and then have to report back to it at night. That could go on for a few days, but I don't know anything about Army. I hope you get good news tho!
MomWifeMe 02-27-2008, 12:01 AM hope everything works out for you!
