Hey all. DB's been gone almost a week now, and I've discovered that I've become addicted to mailing letters ever since I got his address. Tomorrow I'll be sending out #5 and 6... I know I won't be getting any letters from him until next week the earliest.. I just feel like my letters are pointless and just me rambling or telling him that I love him. I'm worried he'll get sick of them :confuzzle Or is that only because he can't respond yet? Do any of you send out one almost every day, too?

From any of you experienced boot camp ladies out there, did your DB/DF/DH like getting lots of letters? And when did you recieve your first letter? I'm gunna be hounding my mailman :P

they all loved getting lots of letters, trust me it keeps their spirits up.

Mine LOVED getting letters. My db told me that my letters helped him keep going on days! Keep writing he loves it...

I'm right there too, lol. I send out a letters every other day. But I write him everyday, sometimes twice a day if a lots been going on. Like today, lol. But he says he loves reading my letters and he likes the fact that I send a lot. I think it's helping him get through boot knowing that I'm going to be here when he comes back and every letter I send just reminds him.

Thanks guys ^_^ I've been trying to make my letters kinda silly to keep him smiling. Everyone says that their man changes during boot and becomes more responsible, committed- I'm hoping that doesn't also include them losing their jokey side, because me and db are kind of cute/silly sometimes.. if that makes sense.

I talked to dh about letters and he said the more the better. He said being without family getting letters makes him feel a lil closer. He told me DONT STOP. I send letters everyday. I actually started the day he left and saved them until I got his addy.

Awww, He might just still be in reception. Sometimes it takes a while to process. If he doesnt have his addy yet...he understands that you arent ignoring him. Just let them add up. I bet he will LOVE all the mail.

Hmmm.. I got his address only a couple days after he left, from his recruiter, with his ship and division # and everything. And the time between getting the letter depends on where you live right? I mean, I'm only a little ways away from db. I know he can't send any the first week, but after that... or is it two weeks before they can start writing? ehh i dunno

:hug Hopefully you will get an address soon. Dont be scared when you finally get that address he will know what happened when the letters pour it.

:hugs I agree with what MomWifeMe says.. once you DO get his address, he'll get a TON of letters, and then everyone else will be jealous of him. I'd say go see his recruiter in person, so that way you KNOW he/she is looking. heh heh

When my DH was in bootcamp I wrote him a letter everyday sometimes even two! He loved getting them and sometimes he will get more than one at a time since they can't get mail everyday. When my DH switched from bootcamp to A-school I couldn't send him letters till he got his new address so I ended up sending 13 letters all at once and he LOVED it!

It took me about 2 weeks to get DB's address but only because I had to wait until his first letter arrived for me to get it.

If you wanted to do other pictures like bathing suits or lingerie (just incase) I would just do what I did and print the pictures out on paper so it doesn't feel like a photo. That way it will feel like you are only sending a letter and nothing else. :)

:giggle that's pretty sneaky!! But nah, I wanted to send him one of us looking goofy- we're touching our tongues together, but I wasn't sure if that would be ok..

My DH (DB at the time) LOVED getting all of my letters. During the first week I sent him about 2 or 3 letters because I was afraid that if I sent too many he would see me as needy and clingy and all that. But by week two I was sending him one everyday and he even told me to send him lots of letters :) There was a time when they didn't give the guys mail for three weeks, and he told his friend he thought I'd given up on him and didn't love him anymore. Well when they finally gave them mail he had about 20 letters fall into his hands lol! :hehe I wish I could've seen the look on his face :) But no, sending one everyday is a good thing. It gives them something to look forward to, not only from the outside world but from who he loves! Oh, and you might want to send him some stamps in a letter, just in case :)

Actually the recruiters can access the address at about the same time you get a letter. Basically the week you get the letter is the same time frame the recruiter will know it as well. I know because dh tells me all the time that parents or sisters or what have you call looking for an addy and by the time he can access it and calls them back they tell him oh well we got a letter already.

I thought he would get sick of them too or wouldn't have time to read them so I started writing like 3 times a week and he would be all bummed out:( Once he told me I started going back to a letter a day:) he loves it. He says that getting letters in bootcamp is like getting gold. Plus they all brag about their girlfriends, fiancees, and wives :blush Send him pictures...they love that. and make it sweet. I wrote one everyday. And once I got his address, I mailed out 11 in one big envelope and then one or two each day or every other day. I got quite a bit in return from him. It was in the 20s I think... But I threw those away cause he's no longer me DB.

Actually, I read on Ft. Jackson website that they encourage us to write lots of letters. Boy, Do I. I put something in the mail everyday. I write like he is my daily diary. Since is he my best friend it makes me feel better.

I have written letters everyday of ranger school and he has said that it is the one thing that makes him happiest. He likes hearing about the day to day stuff because he says it makes him feel like things are still normal.

lol i sprayed my perfume on it, only two sprits...well its like stained the paper and made the ink bleed >.< still eligible but hopefully he'll get the smell!

I have thick stationary paper...I hope mine work also.
