Okay so here's the deal.....

I really want to go to my husbands graduation but.....
I am pregnant and when I mentioned to my doctor that I was going he said "no, your not!" And wont' let me, well doesn't want me to go. His grad is only 3 wks away. I will be 35 wks, 4days preggo It is only a 4.5 hr drive from where I'm at and I won't be driving, I would be riding with DH's aunt and uncle. My doc said that if I went into labor then He wouldn't stop me and neither would anyone in south carolina. He did say if I didn't care to have my baby in SC and without him I could go but I think he was just being a smart a$$ . What would you do?

P.S. I don't want to put the baby at risk so If I am already dilating at that time I won't go.

If I was that far along I dont think I would go. And I am assuming your hubs wants you to deliver with who you are comfortable with and I am assuming thats your doc. All in all he is right he wont stop you but you have to decide. Are you comfortable delivering 4 hours away with a doc you dont know?

If you go, I would make sure you get a check up before you go. Also, think about the what if's. It couldn't hurt to look at the hospitals in Columbia.

I would be inclined to go... Just because having been to graduation, I wouldn't want to miss it for the world. Look in to the hospitals in Columbia, there are some options there. USC is there as well as some local hospitals. It might be worth going. 35 weeks, I think I'd go, but that's jsut me and i've never been pregnant or have kids.

Well I guess it doesn't matter now, I can't go for sure!!!! I have "officially" been put on bedrest. And I have started dilating so I am very "risky" now since I'm only 32 1/2 weeks. So NO graduation for me :(
Thanks for your opinions though :D

But I hope everything goes okay and baby comes when he/she is supposed to! :pray Good luck with everything! :hugs

Good News though, I don't have any one to keep the kids so he's talking to his DS first thing in the morning and hopefully I get to redcross him out till it's safe to have the baby.

As far as how far dilated I'm not sure my doc didn't really say he showed me but I'm clueless on that part, lol. But he did say that if I start having any kind of contractions in a regular pattern to come straight to the hospital and he would start me on "breatheen" and steroids for the baby and send me to Lexington, which is where the major hospitals in KY are, over 1.5 hrs away. She was under weight at my last ultrasound and I haven't gained any weight in over 2 wks. So evidently it's pretty serious. :( The couch is my new home, lol.

That would be cool if he got to go home for the birth. And 3 weeks isn't too long.
