Soooooooooooooo is there really any difference as far as how safe they are? I mean I want to be sure my baby is safe but I really don't want to spend $200 on just the mattress when the crib is going to be like $400 too. Would I be ok going for the $80 mattress? :confuzzle

I think ds has a cheap mattress, it's nice and firm, we've never had a problem with it. As long as it's not too squishy it should be fine.

all new mattresses that are sold ( new) are within current safety regulations. I bought the el cheapo 40 dollar one and nothing bad has happened. they all worked just fine.

We got ours handed down to us from a family friend and we've had no problems. It is nice and firm and we put a mattress pad from babies r us on it and it's just soft enough but still firm. Works great for us. Good luck.

We bought our mattress at Sears, because we had giftcards.. she had a serta ( I think.. it was either sealy or serta) and cost about $80.. Our crib had a built in vibration setting and a mobile with lights and music...

I think I got Jer's for like $50 and it was a baby Sealy... :)

We paid $80 for ours. It's still in good shape, water proof, and comfy.

I wouldn't worry too much about the price either...We got ours at walmart for like 50$. We just put it on the floor and pushed on it to make sure it was firm enough...I think his is a sealy too :thinking

I got Bailey's from Walmart. It was either 39 or 49. She likes it just fine.

As long as your mattress is firm, and it fits the crib correctly then there should be no danger. :) It really doesn't matter what the price is as long as you get the right size and firmness.
