So I just mailed off dh's package of junk food for his "away day" at bct. I spent $15 on junk, and $15 on shipping...he better freaking love me for this...lol. I didn't realize how much it would cost to ship a 3lb box!!!

No, you're not supposed to send them food. In dh's platoon, or company, or something, lol, they were told on 3/17 that they could have the food that their family sent to them, so dh asked me to send him some junk that he's been craving...lol.

I didn't get to send mine food.... But His company was allowed to get money from the ATM and on Presidents Day buy Pizza from Papa John's, a Mt. dew, a pkg. of m&m's and a kit kat. He said it was better than sex, lol!!!!

Hmm... that's weird. DF had "free day away," but they couldn't take anything with them. They could buy junk food, but they weren't allowed anything we sent him. In fact we were specifically told NOT TO SEND ANY FOOD both at the beginning and just before free day away

Yeah we couldn't eat the food our families sent us...instead since we had to open the packages in front of the drill sgts if they saw candy they would eat it front of us!! LOL yea it sucked..but hey I lost like 30 pounds cause I didn't eat that crap
