what's something about your living arrangements that makes all the things you hate worth it?

for me, my apartment may be noisy, small, and my yard may always have trash in it.
but i only owe $3.63 for gas this month! that's just my portion... but that still means for the month of january, in ohio, our gas bill was less then 20bucks!
yeah... that makes living in this tiny little apartment worth it!

The 80's decor I could just fix, I we owned this house.

Living w/in a 2 minute walk from a HUGE pond w/ ducks, turtles, fish in it.
Living w/in a 15 minute walk to the mall
Having a Target, Old Navy, Babies R Us, Best Buy and many other great stores w/in 0.5 miles.

It's all worth it plus more!!!!

Our electricity and water bills...not so much....:giggle

It's only got a one car garage, no pantry, and the water pressure sucks, but I live less than five minutes away (we're talking at MOST a mile) and I made an awesome friend (my next door neighbor) when I moved in :)

Not many couples our age just married had as much space as we did! Granted sometimes the neighborhood sucks because of the noise and the pathway RIGHT behind my back yard... there's not much grass, but an apartment would be worse, although I'm BUSTING from the seams in my kitchen, it's better than an apartment, it's REALLY freaking close to base, the NEX, and commy, and my work!

it's small
the yard is pretty much entirely mud
my kitchen is tiny and the cabinets suck
the carpets are dirty from the last family or 2 that lived here
there's no garage

but it's ours. i don't have to ask permission to alter it
i don't have to worry about the dogs barking while in their kennels for fear the neighbors will through a fit.
it's the first place dh and i really completely and totally made a home.

It's a DRIVE to everything...but it's super cheap for rent+utilities! If it wasn't I wouldnt be able to do it alone with DB deployed right now. So definitely a PLUS that I'm able to afford a roof over my head :yes

The kids drive me nuts with their constant screaming when I try to sleep during the day but it's worth it because I LOVE this place. 2 bedroom, 2 bath flat on the bottom floor and it fits everything I have wonderfully.

It's paid for by my job.
I don't have to drive to class every day and fight for parking.
I get to meet lots of new people.

All these things outway that I'm living in a 50 year old building that's falling apart and that I'm at everyone's mercy and they can wake me up at all hours of the night.

hmm besides the horribly painted walls, leaky faucets, terrible water heater, mud for a yard, no dining room, crappy wood floors, and itty bitty bathroom. I think the fact that we are 4 mins away from the hospital, 6 minutes away from the company, 5 mins away from px and commy and post office... that makes it worth it to me!!

That it is bigger than anything we could afford in town and they allow my dogs
