Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 1/2 years. We have never been apart before. At least until he Joined the National Guard. I am supportive of his decision but now he's away at BCT in Fort Jackson and I miss him so much. Do you ever really stop missing your loved ones who are away or do you just learn to deal with?

Also What happens after BCT will he go directly to AIT?

You dont' get over it....more just learn to live with it. You'll be surprised how strong you are. Hang in there!

And yeah they usually go to tech school after basic. At least in the AF.

You don't stop missing them you just learn to deal with it and some days are better than others.
