Victoria 03-09-2008, 10:05 PM http://www.triwest.com/unauth/apps/OnlineProviderDirectory/default.aspx JudyB 03-09-2008, 10:05 PM I think you need to set up an appt with your PCM for a mental health referal, that also goes for couples counseling to I believe AllyssaM 03-09-2008, 10:10 PM I still need to get a PCM out here. I guess a trip to Tri-Care is on my schedule this week. Thanks ladies. Victoria 03-09-2008, 10:11 PM No, no referral is required when seeking outpatient behavioral healthcare for the first 8 sessions. :) I've done it in two different regions, and the region you're in, Allyssa, is one of them. :tu JudyB 03-09-2008, 10:15 PM No, no referral is required when seeking outpatient behavioral healthcare for the first 8 sessions. :) I've done it in two different regions, and the region you're in, Allyssa, is one of them. :tu Good to know....I was going by what dh has told me, ofcourse he doesn't know our part of it as well as I or others do :yes Victoria 03-09-2008, 10:24 PM Good to know....I was going by what dh has told me, ofcourse he doesn't know our part of it as well as I or others do :yes hehe!! Not a problem!!! :D heather679 03-10-2008, 10:17 PM you can also contact militaryonesource and they'll hook you up with 6 preauthorized visits. AllyssaM 03-11-2008, 01:48 AM What will I do after those 6 or 8 appointments? I know I'll need more than that. Victoria 03-11-2008, 01:50 AM What will I do after those 6 or 8 appointments? I know I'll need more than that. Get a referral from your PCM. I know my counseling office said they'd handle the referral after the 8 sessions. :) It's best to contact the office you're wanting to go to to see how they handle things in their office.... Thing is, I have no idea where to go. I've only been out in SD since July. IDK how to find one or anything, other than militaryonesource. heather679 03-11-2008, 08:19 AM I got mine through onesource, and when I needed more appts, she did the referral. mek2004 03-11-2008, 09:12 AM If you are in San Diego you can search Triwest's website for "Behavioral Health" providers. Call any of them on the list, confirm they are accepting new Tricare patients and make an appointment for an intake session. http://www.triwest.com/unauth/apps/OnlineProviderDirectory/SearchProvider.aspx?id=Specialty Victoria 03-11-2008, 04:39 PM Yeah. Then I'd suggest going to a near-by Tricare office to get yourself assigned to a PCM! AllyssaM 03-11-2008, 07:22 PM Then I'd suggest going to a near-by Tricare office to get yourself assigned to a PCM! Yes, I do need to do that. I am dealing with Social Anxiety and it's hard for me to get out and do that. But I know that's what I need to do. I have a question though.. Can I go onto their website and pick a DR and then call them and see if they're accepting new patients and make an appointment.. Or do I have to fill out paperwork to switch my DR? I had a DR out in the desert, then I went to switch one out here. I filled out the paper work to switch it, and when I called to make an appointment, she wasn't accepting new patients. So can I just find a DR off the website, or do I need to fill out paper work?? I am already on TriCare Prime. CAmom4721 03-11-2008, 07:29 PM Every time you switch your PCM you have to fill out all the paperwork again. But do make sure you call first to make sure they're accepting new patients. Yeah, I figured that. I was just hoping it wasn't true. :lol |
