I think you need to set up an appt with your PCM for a mental health referal, that also goes for couples counseling to I believe

I still need to get a PCM out here. I guess a trip to Tri-Care is on my schedule this week. Thanks ladies.

Get a referral from your PCM. I know my counseling office said they'd handle the referral after the 8 sessions. :) It's best to contact the office you're wanting to go to to see how they handle things in their office....

I got mine through onesource, and when I needed more appts, she did the referral.

If you are in San Diego you can search Triwest's website for "Behavioral Health" providers. Call any of them on the list, confirm they are accepting new Tricare patients and make an appointment for an intake session.

Yes, I do need to do that. I am dealing with Social Anxiety and it's hard for me to get out and do that. But I know that's what I need to do. I have a question though.. Can I go onto their website and pick a DR and then call them and see if they're accepting new patients and make an appointment.. Or do I have to fill out paperwork to switch my DR? I had a DR out in the desert, then I went to switch one out here. I filled out the paper work to switch it, and when I called to make an appointment, she wasn't accepting new patients. So can I just find a DR off the website, or do I need to fill out paper work?? I am already on TriCare Prime.

Every time you switch your PCM you have to fill out all the paperwork again. But do make sure you call first to make sure they're accepting new patients.
