That makes me feel better LOL When he is in his crib I will sit him up and he sits up pretty darn well and he sits up against the back of the couch...Its just hard for me to pay 40 bucks for a chair!

why would it be bad? do what YOU want for YOUR kid ;) :D

Do you have a boppy pillow? That's what I used to teach Taylor to sit up. Works great IMO. I don't think the Bumbo seats existed when she was small....

no we dont have a pillow like that either LOL all i have is a high chair, floor gym, swing, and excersaucer...

I think you are more than prepared then :) Unless you WANT a Bumbo

Cameron liked his for about one day and I ended up taking it back to the store. It's definitely not a necessity.

the little girl i watch has one its just nice for feeding her but since you have a high chair your good to go:P

When we first got his saucer he wasnt really good at keeping his body up...But now he is all over the place, he moves his seat all around and doesnt wobble.

I got Bailey's for 14.00. No way I would have paid 40 for it....lol

Anyhoo, we used it in combo with a boppy to help Charlotte learn to sit. I'm not sure if the bumbo had anything to do with it, but she was sitting up on her own by 5 months old.

Once she was sitting up by herself we only used it at restaurants for a booster seat.

We didn't have one for our fist and wont have one for this one...DD learned to sit up by using her exersaucer (sp?) and sh was sitting earlier then most babies i know..so no need to feel bad for not having 1

we went all out for DD & spoiled her. She has a bumbo - she still uses it to this day!

The recall was just to put a warning sticker on them.

I only have one because I was given it. I wouldn't have paid $40. They often are on craigslist cheap if you want one.

The Bumbo seat isn't necessary... if you have a boppy pillow that'll do just fine, and it's cheaper too! The reason the seat was recalled a while ago was b/c parents were being stupid and would leave their kids in the seat on top of a table... if the baby stretches enough they can fall out of the seat... so hence the stupidity of leaving it on a table unsupervised.

I want one just because I think babies look so darn cute all scrunched up in them:giggle. I wont spend $40 on one though. I will wait to see if some one gifts me one, or look for one on craigslist or at a yardsale.
