*Samantha* 03-13-2008, 01:56 PM So I'm a complete Harry Potter freak...I was trying to figure out how they were going to do the 7th book via movie...turns out they can't take anything out!!! which they never really should!! anyways there making the 7th book into 2 movies...the first installment to be out in November 2010 and the 2nd part in may 2011!!! They will be filming it all at the same time just releasing and two seperate times like they did lord of the rings...the 6th book via movie started filiming in September..didn't give a release date of that..but i am thinking soon!!! woohoooooooooo

HeatherNichole 03-13-2008, 01:59 PM yay!! I hate that they take anything out of any of the books...I am always a little disappointed in the movies....
Cassaundra 03-13-2008, 02:01 PM WHAT?????Two installments? i'm pissed! no no no no! not good enough.......they can't do that to me! but good thing they are not screwing it up with taking stuff out. i was a little ticked with the GOF. you know, after harry potter is over and there is no more LOTR, i will have nothing to look forward to, mediaically speaking!
airmanssweetie 03-13-2008, 02:50 PM The half blood prince will be in theaters in Nov of this year =] I love HP too. Pretty much obsessive
harrisonsdream 03-13-2008, 02:51 PM that's so stupid they are splitting it up, make it just a long movie. make it like a 4 hour movie, they've done it before.
~Christina~ 03-13-2008, 02:58 PM i can't wait til any of them come out...so just bring them on and we're all good...!!!
tinsygrl 03-13-2008, 03:07 PM :yay I love Harry Potter!

sunshyne 03-13-2008, 03:14 PM I love that they are breaking into 2 movies....more to look forward too and more to watch! I love the movies!!
erickson007 03-13-2008, 03:35 PM :woot Harry Potter!!!!
DakotaCowgirl 03-13-2008, 03:44 PM Theres too much in the 7th book that links the others together. I am happy they aren't taking any thing out.
As for the two movies...If they can release them close together...I don't mind. I can understand why not doing just a long one. It would be to long for kids to sit through and you know most kids want to go to it.
Face it, I can't even sit through it.

I agree... I mean i sat my butt during a viewing of Star Wars 4,5,6 in on theater several years ago in SD... it was in the big stadium style one

Unfortunately, the sales in the theater would suffer. People (especially parents taking kids) won't sit that long. Not like people did for Lord of the Rings, but even those extended editions were limited theaters for like 2 days. It's just not financially or logistically possible.
I'd sit through it though :teehee

yeah i can see why they are splitting it up but they are splitting them up a year apart that is dumb! they should release the first part one month then the second part like a month later instead of this year apart thing.
The Megster 03-13-2008, 07:46 PM 6th movie is due this November the last I saw.

I definitely agree a year apart is too long. Maybe like three or four months to give the first one time to run in the theaters. A year is waaaaay too long.

yup i think honestly people will not go see the second half they'll just wait till it's released on dvd. plus how are they going to release the movie on dvd, is it going to be separate part 1 and part 2 until part 2 is out of theaters?
eta: i know you don't know the answers lol
sunshyne 03-13-2008, 07:49 PM I personally will see it in the theater no matter when or how they do it.
