when your SO proposed...did you know exactly when it was coming? did you have no idea? or what?

I'm not engaged YET... but i know it's coming when DB gets home from OCS in a few months!! :woot

I knew it was coming I just didnt know when.

well i didn't, he asked me when he was in boot camp in his first letter to me he was really sweet and said that he love me and i was the only one he wanted to be with. then he said that he would do it the right way later. still waiting for that. i hope that its sometime soon.:pray:pray

I had no idea it was coming. None! He called me one night after a night out with the guys and said: You know I will marry you right? All I could do was...:wow:wow:wow and :cp:cp:cp

DF & I knew we were meant to be together. Just that feeling we had when we met. It was love @ first sight, not to sound cliche ;) He looked me in the eyes and just said marry me. I got teary eyed kissed him, and said only if you make a promise to come home to me in (estimated) 180 days. (6 mos) He said "I'll count the days." Then he left... that was 25 days ago... :sigh I love him w/ all my (L) Can't wait for his homecoming!

I just got a diamond promise ring though so I doubt it will be anytime in the near future. which sucks because I'm so ready to be his wife.

I knew it was coming someday. But he joked about it so often I thought he was joking when he really did it. I even laughed at him. HE actually had to tell me on his knee that he was serious with ring in hand. It was really funny and sweet at the same time.

Um, yes. He was going to propose before he left for Bolc II and if it wasn't obvious before, it became obvious when I told him my parents were leaving before him on vacation and he panicked and "went to see them to say goodbye"... he had NEVER visited them without me before.

We had started looking at rings 10 MONTHS earlier, so I was a little pissy he waited until the last POSSIBLE point to ask - when I was sick and mega stressed about work and him leaving.

We were unoficially engaged, an he knew I really wanted him to say the 4 words. But on New Years eve we were back in Minnesota at his friends house, I was his DD so I was sober (he had drank alot of his rum) So the ball droped he was holding me an looking down at me (he's over 6' im 5'3) an he just asked me.

I should be getting the ring soon :teehee

i'm scared that i'll know exactly when it's coming. DB is horrible at keeping secrets. he'll probably give me a bunch of "hints" that he doesn't think makes it obvious but it will haha.
it definitely won't be for a few years though soo i got time to train him to keep his surprises to himself. ;)

Ok well we have been friends FOREVER, mind you that we met in 5th grade. Well somewhere long the road I told him that the perfect proposal to me would be bottom of the 9th in a yankees-boston game at fenway park! Being the HUGE Sox fan that I am! I jokingly told him that there's nothing sweeter then me wearing my manny jersey, a sam adams in one hand, a fenway frank in the other and diamond ring in front of me!
Soooooooooo he told my dad he's gonna propose on R and R which is only a month and a half away!!! And he kept talking about going to a sox game. Which is a no-brainer because my fam has season tickets and we would go anyways! but something about him wanting to get the tickets and make the arrangements. So i broke down and told him one day that I had a feeling about it and I want to be surprised and i kinda ruined the surprise for myself. So he said "Dammit I gotta make a new plan!"

we skipped the proposal and went straight to the wedding! :D

I had no idea, we were chatting via web-cam and he got down on one knee and typed "Will you marry me?" I cried like a crazy person! It was He amazing and so sweet. He said that he could not wait until he came home to ask.

It was all a surprise for me.

I know its coming but has not happened yet. As much as I am just so excited to know exactly when. I really want the suprise factor so I know its coming he has looked at lots of rings and asked me about a lot but I dont know when it will happen. I hope soon but who knows.

I knew...he can't keep secrets from me. It kind of disappointed me in a way because I wanted it to be a surprise even though I hate surprises! Oh well, I wouldn't have it any other way now :D

I like this thread. I knew it was coming it was coming on a specific day, on a date we were on. Then near the end of the date I thought he wasn't going to do it, and we were talking about getting engaged for SO long. I thought if he isn't going to do it now, than he is not even thinking about it. I kinda let him have it a little bit. Then we got in his truck, i thought we were going home. He brought me to one of the most beautiful parks that had sentimental value for us, and popped the ring out of his pocket. Down on one knee and everything.

I'm such a jerk!

We had talked about marriage some, knew it was a definite possibility, but it came sooner then I expected. I sure would not change a thing though!
