Who has heard of this new series coming to PBS about the Navy? I'm really looking forward to it. It basically will give us an inside to what really goes on when our Sailors are deployed.

Wow... I just finished watching the Youtube preview and I had tears in my eyes like 5 different times. I like the layout of the 'episodes' that the Producer/Director was describing. I can't wait for this to start!

Yeah, after watching it and crying I called DH to tell him I love and miss him but his phone is dead. :( I'm just thankful he's just at school and not on a ship yet.

I will defenitely be watching it. It was filmed on DH's ship, but it was last years cruise, so he wasn't there. However I am sure many of the guys from his squadron will be shown. Looking forward to it.

Been there done that (active duty navy), but I hadn't seen anything about a documentary. I'm THRILLED that something is being put together like that. I used to get so irritared when the guys wives would get all mean and pissy, acting like deployment was a pleasure cruise. It's not all fun and games :no :sadeyes

I just watched the you tube link and I can't wait to watch this. It looks very interesting and will help me get a feel for what my husband was doing when he was on the enterprise back in 02-05

Hi, yes, I posted about this PBS special a while back and promise to bump it up as a reminder to watch it closer to the April 27th air date. My DB's on that ship, but wasn't on it for that particular tour.

I saw a preview a while back It looks really good and it really does get involved with thier lives. I can't wait.

I will check it out but I know I won't be able to relate, DH isn't on ships.

My oldest mentioned wanting to watch it. I probably won't. I've seen so many movies/documentaries/specials about Navy life I am over it! haha......plus DH doesn't deploy on ships. If he was home though you can bet we'd be watching it.....or he would and I'd be doing something else.
