View Full Version : Mommies to be please read need a little help
Soldierslove08 03-19-2008, 01:40 PM So I am 26 weeks and my little peanut always kicks a lot. So the other day I did something really stupid:duh I moved some furniture. It was not light stuff either it was the bed and a small dresser. I know really stupid but anyhow to the point. Since then I have not felt her kick but twice in like two days. That is not normal at all for us she always kicks at least 10-15 times a day that I can actually count I stop after a while since she does it so much. So now sure if I should call the doc or not I dont want to be that over worried mom who just calls over nothing! HELP what do I do?
Donna 03-19-2008, 01:42 PM if you have any feeling that something may be wrong. call your dr or go to L&D. big deal if there is nothing. better to be safe than sorry.

:agree
Berkley 03-19-2008, 01:45 PM I agree with Donna
In the meantime try laying down and drinking some OJ that never failed to get mine doing the rain dance in my tummy.
MissAmyB 03-19-2008, 01:45 PM Have you done a kick count and come up with less than ten in an hour?? If so, call your dr right now!!
Mommy2Bailey 03-19-2008, 01:50 PM Always get checked out if you think something is wrong.
Soldierslove08 03-19-2008, 01:55 PM Yeah and I layed down and SHE IS ALWAYS active when I lay down or drink water and nothing. I told DB last night and he seemed to be more concerned then I was about it so I thought I would ask you girls. I push on her and nothing and I always get kicked back. She is one of those I am pain in the ass let me kick you and tell you all about it. So for her not to kick at all is really not normal. I have felt one kick after really moving her around this am but thats it for the day. She usually wakes me at around 4 as well and nothing this am

Well, then dont sit at the comp. Go to L&D and have them hook you up to the monitors to check her heart rate.
One thing I have learned. Go with your gut. If something seems off, get it checked out.
Soldierslove08 03-19-2008, 02:07 PM Thanks I was on hold with doc office I am headed out now THANKS SO MUCH!
Caimbrie 03-19-2008, 02:08 PM You doc hasn't told you about kick counts? If you have only felt her kick twice in 2 days you NEED to go in and be seen. If there is something wrong you want to know now.

I was never told about kick counts till I was 28-30 weeks with all the kids. I know with Danica, my dr's never said anything even with all the problems I was having.

I honestly have no idea when the docs have mentioned it to me :teehee
I would just think that if the baby kicked ALL the time and then wasn't all of the sudden that would be common sense to get checked.
Soldierslove08 03-19-2008, 02:32 PM yes it is common sence to go get it checked but its my first baby and I have a non eventful pregnancy. So I thought I should ask before going in. Its lots of call and hold and wait with my doc office as well. So I did call and I am on call three and on hold. So yeah I know it should be checked just didnt want to be that over worried mom.
chely7425 03-19-2008, 02:34 PM I have gone in and gotten checked a couple times when I didn't feel the baby moving as much... better safe than sorry! Hope you get through to your doctor and get some peace of mind soon!!

Sometimes, it's better to be over worried than not worried at all:wink
DakotaCowgirl 03-19-2008, 02:52 PM Agreed with all above. I would ask to be put on a fetal monitor to ensure the baby is ok. They will just check the heart beat.
Budreckisgrl0026 03-20-2008, 02:15 PM I would deff go in, like the other girls said its better to be safe then sorry. I hope everything is okay with the baby!!
Ellen 03-20-2008, 02:21 PM Update???????

:yes definitely
My cousine didn't worry too much when she didn't feel her baby kicking the day before she gave birth. She gave birth to full term a still born baby girl. Had she went in the day before they could have saved the baby. It's one of those better safe than sorry type things. I went in at least once for all of my pregnancies for decreased fetal movement.
