View Full Version : i need a good meatball recipe Bex 12-17-2005, 10:08 PM please Brandi 12-20-2005, 01:26 PM I make them a variety of ways and it depends what type of sauce I'm having them with. Jason's dad passed on this AMAZING BBQ spaghetti recipe. I know it sounds weird and it has only a hint of BBQ, but it is sooooooo awesome. With that, I use pretty plain meatballs. I just take about 2 lbs of hamburger, lots of fresh pepper, salt, a little bit of italian seasoning, some garlic powder, maybe a SMIDGE of worsch sauce. Smoosh it up, then make meatballs that are about golfball sized. Throw them into a pretty big skillet with about 2 inches or so of water. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid, reduce to a simmer. Then you let it cook for about 30-40 minutes or until done all the day through. If I'm making a regular italian spaghetti sauce, then I usually make up my parmesan meatballs. Its basically one egg, a pound and a half or so of ground beef, about a cup or two of freshly grated parmesan cheese, salt and loads of pepper. You bake them in a preheated oven on a greased pan for about 30 minutes or until they're browned. I also make another kind similar to the first but I add some bread crumbs and an egg. After reading this post, I started craving spaghetti so bad that hubby is now on his way to pick up some ground beef for me :hehe Bex 12-23-2005, 04:40 PM THANK YOU :) yummy!! jeremy's mom has a bbq meatball recipe that uses grape jelly. sounds funny but ohhhhh so good Brandi 12-23-2005, 05:29 PM THANK YOU :) yummy!! jeremy's mom has a bbq meatball recipe that uses grape jelly. sounds funny but ohhhhh so good I have a chili and grape jelly recipe also, but I use those on cocktail meatballs and lil smokies for appetizers and such. That one is pretty easy. I don't have a "Recipe" for it. I just kinda add as I go, but it's basically tomato sauce, a little bit of premade BBQ sauce (kraft original is good), some chili powder, lots of fresh pepper, some grape jelly, a little bit of ketchup and I think thats it... you just throw that in the crockpot with some precooked meatballs (just fry 'em up in the skillet or bake them in the oven on a cookie sheet), then you let them simmer in the sauce for a little while. Totally yummy! Bex 12-23-2005, 06:32 PM oooh perfect. : ) thank you!! J Digory 01-21-2006, 10:23 AM My mother's meatballs have an egg, italian breadcrumbs, minced garlic, some pepper, salt, worcsh sauce, and she bakes them then simmers them in the sauce. Best darn meatballs I have ever had. |
