We had our kitten spayed on Thursday. She came home with instructions that said she was supposed to be confined (limit walking, jumping, running, playing, etc) for 2 weeks.
But she's going crazy in her cage. We have her in the dog's kennel so she has enough room to move and get comfy. She has food, water and a paper litter box in there too. But she's starting to attack the kennel and just howls for hours on end.
I don't remember have to confine my other cat for 2 weeks after being neutered.:shrug
We've let her out the past 2 days when the boys are down for naps and when the kids go to bed so they won't rile her up. She's jumping on the couch and acting totally normal. Her incision area is not red nor swollen. She doesn't attempt to lick the area anymore (we're removed her E-collar).
So my question is, do we really need to wait the full 2 weeks? How long were your pets confined?
P.S. I refuse to call the SPCA where we got because they are a bunch of idiots there. They can't tell their head from their ass and basically give you an answer to shut you up.:grumpy
