Is driving me insane!!!! :gaah
OK, Its a 3MHZ so its a good one. I have "heard" what sounds like the HB quit loud and gallopy in 4 different spots today, but just when I get excited DH times the heart rate and it has never been over 100 which is definitly NOT normal... I don't get the its my HB vibe though... especially when it is really loud and then skurries away and then comes back. I know we aren't too stupid we can't figure out beats per minute... we timed 15 secs and times the beats we heard and the most it ever was 100 but mostly 90s... :dunno
I started checking near my hair line and went over and a little up but I have been looking really low and most definitly am hearing something but the heart rate is too slow to be the baby. I just didn't think I would get my HB in like 4-5 different spots all over my pelvic area... :depressed
Sorry just wanted to pout...

Cori,

You are still early in your pregnancy. The baby may not be in a position that's easy to pick up the heartbeat. Doctors sometimes have a difficult time picking up a heartbeat at 12 weeks. Give it some time.

I agree with Ellen. Give it some time. :hugehug

Thanks, with Jer they got his right off at 10 weeks which is what they say on the site that you can hear from 10-12 weeks so I waited a couple extra weeks before ordering. I just know I heard the HB but unless the baby's HB is sickly low that must not be it.

I think it wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't hearing the loud/gallopy sounds that appear quite fast that anyone would think is the baby... but maybe im too dumb to figure out the beats

:hugs Try not to panic! I know easier said than done. I used to get the doppler when I was pregnant with the boys and early like this, finding little one can be really tough. Step away and try again later. At 12 weeks with Trenton, even the doctor couldn't get his heartbeat with the doppler. It freaked me out, I immediately started crying. They did an ultrasound and everything was just fine. Trenton was just being difficult.

Sometimes I think the doppler brought me more stress than helped me. Hang in there!

what you're hearing is probably YOUR hb ;)

I wonder if I will know the difference... I am not so good with this. And this is why I wanted the digital one... I think Im going to send this one back and get the digital...

cor, if it's not working with the regular one, i don't think the digi will help either. your HR should be about 1/2 the speed of a babies.... babies are usually fast.... like 120+

The baby heartbeat is much quicker. They didnt get the heartbeat on me till 16-17 weeks.

Don't worry, it's really hard to figur it out when you first get it, but you will get the hang of it. The easyest way to tell if it is you HB or not is when you find it, feel the pulse at your neck and see if it matches.

I rented once with Maddy and was never able to hear her heartbeat with it. Complete waste of money for us.

I "think" I heard the HB when I just used it but right as I started to count the beats and was getting around to about 10 secs or so the little booger moved away and I couldn't finish counting. :lol Sounds like a stubborn girl already :P

Cori I am sure it was your HR you were hearing. When I was 12 weeks I couldn't get the baby.. just myself.. It sounded like it could have been the baby was it was too slow. Don't stress it... I wasn't able to start getting the baby's easily until a few weeks ago. Even the midwife took 15 minutes to get it at my 16 week appointment.

Aw try not to let it get to you:) I know it took my doc forever to find her heartbeat when I was 12 weeks:hugs

It might be your HB or it may be the placenta or umbillical cord that you're hearing. Both of those sound similar to the baby's HB but they are slower like what you're describing. Keep working on it and be sure that you have the doppler LOOOOOOOOOOW. Right now, your baby is probably BARELY above the pubic bone. So start almost on top of your pubic bone and just very very slowly work your way from side to side and up a little further until you find it. You should be able to hear it by now but you have to make sure you are SUPER low b/c the baby is still way way down there.

It still takes my doctor a 5 minutes to find mine sometimes. He likes to hide. lol I'm sure you'll get it!
