During your first pregnancy did you consider yourself a mother already? For example, if you had a rough pregnancy did you feel like a mother from everything you had to go thru to protect your baby?

Poll coming wait for it?

definately felt like a mother from the day I found out I was pregnant because the day you find out you're pregnant you start living differently, living to take care of your baby and make sure they are healthy

No I really didn't consider myself a mother until I held her in my arms for the first time

Not at all. It was late in my pregnancy before I even "felt" it was real.

I picked somewhat, but the realization that I was a mother didn't really hit me until after ds was born. However, I had a rough pregnancy and was in a fairly bad car accident when I was pregnant. I felt like I shouldn't get too attached because I was so terrified that something would go wrong. I was pregnant on Mother's Day last year, and when people would tell me "Happy Mother's Day", I'd be thinking "Why are they saying this to me. I don't have kids yet"

Yes absolutely. Once I found out there was a baby in there I took better care of myself to nurture and protect him. I feel the same way with this pregnancy too.

I did all this and my ideas about life, just everything about how I think has changed. BUT, I personally won't consider myself a mother until he exits the womb.

i chose somewhat. My first pregnancy was at 17 and it was through a rape so it was tough anyway. I was allowing her to be adopted by my aunt's sister so I tried to seperate myself as much as possible. I was basically a surrogate, be/c she couldn't have kids. So i felt responsible for the baby as her care taker but not really as a mom. I still consider my second child as my first.
