World Record - Largest Speeding Fine
Jussi Salonoja (Finland) was fined $223,000 (USD) for driving at 50 MPH in a 25 MPH zone in Helsinki, Finland, in February 2004.
In accordance with Finnish law, speeders are fined in proportion to their annual income - and Mr Salonoja, heir to family-owned sausage empire, earned close to $11 million in 2002.
