How do you access Deers? :confused rosebud* 03-31-2008, 07:25 PM i am guessing based on your location that you are going to be using Tricare north. Here is the main site for them https://www.hnfs.net/common/home/ here is the DEERS site https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/deerswebsite/home.do although unless there is a problem you don't really need to access it much. IrishNavyWife 03-31-2008, 09:20 PM I am getting my ID this week and I also have a question about DEERS/Tricare. My 5yo is not on the DEERS/ID ppwk, does this mean that he's not going to be covered by Tricare? I know that since he's under 10, he's not issued an ID, but I want to make sure he's registered for Tricare. I have a POA, so I guess I should take the POA with me so that I can get my DS on with Deers? rosebud* 03-31-2008, 10:48 PM ok so what the heck do I do now? I have a POA, so I guess I should take the POA with me so that I can get my DS on with Deers? Ok Dh says when you go to get your ID you can enroll your son in DEERS and yes to take your POA, however some places are jerks and might give you a hard time about not having a specific POA. But you can always call the DEERS number i believe its on the website i posted to ask about it. hth. IrishNavyWife 04-01-2008, 09:44 PM I hope I don't have issues, although I should go expecting some and then if I don't have any....I'll be thankful instead of the other way around. WifeyofASouljah 04-01-2008, 09:47 PM the best thing to do is what i did.. go up to the deers building first up on base.. they will tell you most of what to do.. they gave me my id and told me to go to the hospital i think it was medical records.. or something like that.. yeah so go to the hospital and find where you need to go and you have to fill out paperwork of either standard or prime (i did prime) and then there you go.. everytime you go to the doc you give them your id.. as for your child you'll have to enroll him into deers and then they will direct you. have a list of questions you have just so you don't miss out on the things you need to know. good luck. We don't live on base. Hubby is in boot. I have to go to Naval Operations here in town. Hopefully they can answer my questions, but maybe not. Who knows??!! Did you try looking on the tricare website? I just called my regular doctor and thank goodness they accepted it. They told me just to bring my id card. |
