Hey I picked up this new cookbook it's called the kid friendly ADHD & Autism cookbook: The ultimate guide to the gluten-free, casein-free diet.
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Kid-Friendly-ADHD-and-Autism-Cookbook/Pamela-J-Compart/e/9781592332236

The first quarter of the book explains why eliminating those two things might help with symptoms and the rest is recipes from everything to homemade rice milk and mayo to one dish meals, deserts, and breakfasts etc.

Just wanted to let you guys know about it in case you are trying GFCF diets with your kiddos!

There are two other cookbooks in this series as well The kid friendly food allergy cookbook and The best ever wheat-and-gluten-free baking book.

Wow, sweet! We have actually been thinking about trying the diet, or at least limiting his gluten intake.

We just started fish oil, so we'll see if that helps at all.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have about 3 books I have been waiting to order from amazon, and this one will make them all good for super saver shipping! :tu

Thanks!!! (L)

YAY no problem. Hey have you seen the commercials for Autism:The Musical? It is a documentary that is getting a lot of attention at the film festivals. It looks really good.

YES! I saw it in a mag a few weeks ago! Then Jillian mentioned it was on, but we don't have Showtime. :( :td If you find it online, let me know, I really want to see it! The reviews were great and it's supposed to be very "moving". (L)

Yes, I actually have the book. It is a really great one. We have given the GFCF diet a really good go, but it doesn't seem to make enough difference to justify how difficult it is to keep up, at least not for T. I really think it can help some kiddos though. I have used it in conjunction with giving him Probiotics, and it seems to be effective in helping them to start working, if that makes sense.

I have the Autism special recorded on my DVR. Now, if you two were only close enough to come over and watch it.:)

OH that would be so cool if we lived close enough to have a movie viewing get together. I am sorry the GFCF diet didn't seem to work for you guys.

Have you watched it yet or is it just DVR'd?
