My first boyfriend was a Marine while I was in high school. We had known each other for years and starting dating after he came back home to visit from Pendleton. I was 17 and he was 18. We weren't that serious though, and it seemed like a normal long distance relationship to me. The Marines weren't really a big part of it outside of being the reason why he was living in California.

Yup... I met DH when I was 16 (almost 17). He was just barely 22. My parents werent thrilled about the age difference, but they really liked him. We didn't get physically "involved" for awhile, cause DH was paranoid about the age thing. Now, I am almost 25, and he is almost 30, and it doesn't seem like such a big deal.

When I was 16 I dated a man that was 22 though for a brief while and when I was 18 (and already at A school) I dated my personal trainer at my gym he was a civilian and was 39. Both of them were very nice guys not jerks and certainly not into me because I was so young. I was very mature and behaved a lot older then I was just from having to take care of my dad and little sister. (I did not sleep with either of them either so they were not in it for the sex)
