Ok ladies I hate to do it but we've had a lot of flakes in the last two rounds so it's time to change things up a little.

As of now the rules for being able to JOIN a round of SS are...

You have to have at LEAST 1,000 post and you have to have been an ACTIVE member for at LEAST 6 months. I know to some it won't seem fair but you don't realize how bad it sucks to be flaked on until it happens to you and we are trying to prevent that from happening to anybody else. There will not be any exceptions to this rule as I have already talked to the mods and they agree that something has to be done. When people sign up I will be checking their post count and join date and if they don't match up then you wont be able to participate.

I would also like to add that it has been on the sign-up sheet all along that you are required to contact your SS at LEAST 3 times EVERY week. If you can't do that then don't sign up. We have had a lot of people who go full force for the first week or two and then just quit contacting their SS. If it is found that during the round you do not hold up your end of the deal your name will go on "the list" which will prevent you from being able to join SS or any of the other things that go on through out the year (CCE, Ornament exchange ect...).

Please ladies, if you are going to sign up follow through. It really isn't fair for people to get hurt and never want to join again because their SS couldn't hop online for a minute 3 times a week but they are still posting under their regular name.

I'm really sorry that we've had to up the post and time but it only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for the bunch! From now on please lets follow through with what we sign up for.

Thank you for understanding! I do feel really bad for those that aren't going to get to join but ya know, we do usually a round each month or so and if you are going to be around then you'll def be ready for the next one. :hugs

Usually though the rules were if you had in the past completed a round you were able to join the new one because you had proven yourself. I'm still on the fence if I wanna join or not. lol

There will be more rounds later. It is unfortunate that people can't follow through with what they sign up for and then the rules have to be changed to keep them from doing it again to someone else.

I'm sad because I can't join (unless I can get to 1,000 in the next few days), BUT I totally understand where you're coming from...it's not fair to anyone who gets stiffed and the worst part is the person who did the stiffing was still getting stuff.

I think this is a great idea. I think that with 6 months on the board and at least 1000 post count it will be pretty promising to the people that do participate in getting someone who willl take the time to contact their ss. Great Idea!!!

and we all had to do our own share of waiting after we joined SOS. It's just one of those things. Just take the time to get to know people, keep posting and it will be here before you know it!

I was running secret sister/exchange before I was even here for 6 months, so its seems a little strict, especially when you have some of these girls that have managed 1000s of posts in under 6 months. I was having trouble with some of the "older" members - its tough to pigeon hole who is going to flake out. I understand the frustration involved, but it was never something I couldn't resolve within a few days or get them replaced almost immediately. :shrug

I'm glad it worked out that way for you. After talking to the admins we decided to change it up because obviously the old system wasn't working.

I've participated in a couple of SS but I knew this semester was going to be crazy for me at school so I haven't signed up for any in the last few months because I know I would've been a flake and that's not fair to the SS.

I'm looking forward to doing the one in June though, once life is calm again :D

For the old one you had to have either 250 or 500 posts anyways and have been an active member for at least a month (I think)
