We are supposed to be moving next month from Lofgren to a 3 bedroom. I love Lofgren but there is a wait for 3 bedrooms and I love NTC but there is a REALLY long wait for 3 bedrooms. They offered us Gateway but I'm not sure if I like the area. I know NTC and Gateway are really close but the extra blocks really make a difference to me. For example, Gateway is like 2 blocks from the Adult Super store and there are all those old motels behind the complex. If anyone lives there, is it safe? Do you like it? What about Serra Mesa? It seems like a little bit of a better neighborhood? Can anyone tell me about their experiences there and how they like it? Has anyone lived in both areas? Which one did they like best? Thanks ladies :)

I like Serra Mesa, it's a nice neighborhood. The houses are built TOO close to eachother, but that really is my only complaint. This neighborhood pays for your cable internet, and this area is really central in San Diego

The official list said 0-2 months. I know that's not long but we need something available now because dh is leaving on deployment and he wants to get us all packed up before he leaves

I have had friends that live at Gateway and have not had any complaints.

We are in a similar situation but dh just got back from deployment and Im headed back that way. I would love to move back to NTC but 3-6 months is 2 long. I would do a search on her for serra mesa. I love the fact that Ntc and Gateway are new but the adult stores and strip clubs are an eye sore. I wouldnt mind if it wasnt in plain view. Good luck with your decision.

Serra Mesa is the best place we ever lived! The neighbor hood is great, really close to the elementary school and a library branch (across the street), Some of the 3 BR are 3 floors with the top loft having a bathroom, office HUGE walk in closet and another HUGE storage closet. It was almost too big for my family!
It's also in the middle of everything.
I miss it so much!

We live in Serra Mesa and like it a lot. My main complaint is no yard for the kids. We live in a sort of stand alone house, we only share a split garage with the next door neighbors, so being too close to the neighbors is not a problem for us, but a friend of mine that lived in one of the attached houses said that they could hear their neighbors' screaming matches. I would imagine NTC is the same way, however, it looks exactly like Serra Mesa from what I've seen, except at NTC they have screen doors, and I am jealous of that!

I can't really hear my neighbors talking, but I can hear the kid running up and down the stairs. They also have a very loud entertainment system and that can be annoying sometimes. I am glad I only share one wall since we are on the end. Ohh and we live in NTC.

I lived in Gateway. I LOVED it. I'd move back in a heart beat. I always felt safe there. I left my garage open all night 3 times on accident and nothing was taken even when my kids bikes were right at the door and both our cars were left unlocked. I liked the location and the housing itself is brand new. We were the first family to live in the house we got.

The Village at NTC and Gateway would be my top choices!
