View Full Version : California Disneyland Peeps!
sunshyne 04-17-2008, 09:53 PM We are going to try and plan a family vacation to Disneyland and California Adventure. We are planning to drive up there one night stay at a hotel...then go to d-land...then spend the night and go to California Adventure the next day. Does anyone know of any decent (not way too expensive) hotels nearby that you would reccomend? :D
Teachercat 04-17-2008, 10:03 PM As a matter of fact I am a trip planning wizard! The Roadway Inn Anaheim will runs deals. My babies and I stayed there last year for 39.00 a night. The Howard Johnson is close to the Parks, and reasonably priced. If you get your tickets through Costco they are associated with "Good Neighbor" hotels and they are usually cheap and nice.
When are you planning on going. I have a Disneyland book that I would be happy to send you. Let me know.
Also, disneymouselinks.com s a great site with lots of info about the park and travel there with littel ones.

DH and I were just there a couple weeks ago--The maingate econolodge is $66 a night government rate for a king suite--has a king bed and a couch that folds out into a bed-- also has a small desk and table and chairs--you won't find much better. It's only two blocks away.
The rooms with two queen size are like $5 cheaper a night.
Rileysmom 04-17-2008, 10:08 PM You can get discounted hotels through the MWR! Let me dig up the link! :mrgreen

Kaymara 04-17-2008, 10:16 PM We stayed at a hotel almost right across the street from the entrance. Lemme dig up the name.

We just did it Jessica! We stayed at the Anaheim Holiday Inn resort and used the voucher u buy at miramar. good hotel and kids eat free!!!!!!! Oh and a good shuttle to and from the parks. We also bought our tixs thru base.
CAmom4721 04-17-2008, 11:15 PM I hated the Howard Johnson there, did that once, won't again. I have never had a bad experience at any Holiday Inn. Hope you guys find a good place to stay! :goodvibes

Really, I have never stayed but everyone has always said good things. What was bad about it? Sorry, just nosey.
mara_jade81 04-18-2008, 12:33 AM We usually stay at the Desert Inn and Suites, it is right across the street from the entrance so that way you can walk in and not have to pay to park. There is also the Carousel Inn and the Tropicana right along that street as well.
Look up hotels on Harbor Blvd. I'm sure most that are nearest the entrance will be promoting that on the websites :lol
sweetdreamer_08 04-18-2008, 01:06 AM i am going to Disneyland the first week of June...we are going to play in the parade...so i am uber excited...i think we are going to California adventure too...but i am not sure
USNIwife 04-18-2008, 11:58 AM it's fun there =) enjoy!
sunshyne 04-18-2008, 12:03 PM I'm getting excited! It's gonna be fun. We are thinking of possibly doing Disneyland one day, next day california adventure, and then Knott's berry farm! I have been to Disneyland lots, California adventure once...but I haven't been to Knott's since I was like 10 :yahoo
Still trying to figure out what hotel we might want to stay at though :dunno
sunshyne 04-18-2008, 02:15 PM Has anyone stayed at the Ramada Inn or Super 8 by Disneyland? Those seem to be the most affordable for us. Spending more than $100 bucks a night would just really cut down on any extra money we would have to spend for fun at the theme parks (some of the prices of the hotels are so expensive!!). The Ramada we can stay at with taxes etc for 303.60 for 3 nights and the Super 8 would be 238.05 for the 3 nights.
The Ramada has:
Free parking (some of the hotels actually charge you to park :no)
Free Continental breakfast
100% non smoking hotel
heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi
5-10 minute walk to Disneyland.
The Super 8:
Free parking
Free Continental breakfast
non smoking rooms
pool
10 - 15 minute walk to Disneyland

proudnvywife01 04-18-2008, 02:59 PM We are also planning on going in June. My ? is, if you buy the tickets from MWR right now can you still use them in June?

sunshyne 04-18-2008, 06:05 PM My mom is so great! She is taking a week off of work just to come and stay at our house and watch all of our pets for us (L) It's win win though..she is taking advantage and having her house tented for termites or something while we are gone....this way she can just be here while they are doing that.
