DF is deploying in about 2 months~ our little boy who is 2 is having attachment issues- he sees daddy getting ready to pack up but when its time for bed or nap time he says, Mommy dont leave- Mommy- When Daddy is in the room he cries. :tears:tears He never used to do this until now.

Any advise would help on how to cope with this. It breaks my heart to see him cry... DF will be gone for 15 months.

Awww, seems like the poor little guy is picking up on what's going on. He sees Daddy getting ready to leave and thinks you're leaving too. "Tell him Daddy's not leaving FOREVER; he's just leaving for a while. He's not leaving because of you; he's leaving because the people at his work told he has a job to do."

Then let Daddy and toddler spend all the time they want to together: go to the park, play games, Daddy/toddler stuff.

What else MAY help is having Daddy make movies of him reading a book to the little guy. Before bed, you could say: "Hey, Daddy's gonna read you a bed time story!" and pop in the tape/DVD.

Get a picture of Daddy and get it enlarged and framed and put it above the toddler's bed: "Daddy's gonna watch over you while you sleep!"

I hope these ideas help. :hug
