so I'm sort of into photography, and I was thinking of taking 8x10's of the beaches in black and white and putting them in matted frames in my living room. Well, I am BRRANNDD new to the san diego area, and before i land a stinkin job somewhere I want get the pictures done. so, give me some feedback, be sort of exact, don't just say, "blahblah beach" and not tell me what i'm lookin for. anywhoot, hope to get some help!

What about the Downtown San Diego skyline from the Coronado side?!?

For beaches, itself, try Silver Strand beach and Imperial Beach. There are PLENTY of beaches around!!!

Torrey Pines is beautiful too.. you can get pictures from the shore, and there are also cliffs that you can drive up and take some killer pictures from there too... it's a state park reserve too, so the beaches are really clean from litter and stuff too. :woot

I am a fan of La Jolla, because that's the closest to me. There is La Jolla Shores [which is the beach area] and La Jolla Cove. I (L) La Jolla Cove, there's lots of pretty picture opportunities there.

Ooo! If you go down towards La Jolla Cove. If you take the road that takes you past La Jolla Cove and Childrens Pool, and you park your car somewhere past there, you can get some awesome pictures of the beach if you point your camera towards Children's Pool. It's really nice over there and then there are some Tide Pools a little further down that you can take some awesome pictures of.

You gals have been helpful! One of you asked me to "share my finished product" but I only have la jolla done so far. i got some AMAZING shots. I'll share them, but with a disclaimer that no one gets mad that I'm photo-whoring this thread! :]

ok another great area that I love and grew up just walking around. Go to Del Mar dog beach....u can look it up. Then just walk that way north...the cliffs are just beautiful looking up at them. Its also a very popular spot to have family photos done.

I have a Olympus Stylus 1030W. the 10.1 MP come in handy why doing landscape shots for sure! the pictures I just took at Cabrillo Ntnl were able to Shapen so well when I did them in photoshop. The SuperMacro is also my second lover :x

La Jolla cove is one of our favorites. Every little section of the beach is different. The kids love the caves and tidepools. In our 6 years living here we have yet to go to La Jolla Shores.
