This could be long, just warning ya!

So, I live in KY, my db is transferring from Pendleton to Miramar May 1st. He deploys to the sandbox for deployment #3 this September and wants me as near as possible. There is a possibility I would move out there around June and move back home after he leaves on deployment. But I am totally terrified. If I were to move I am leaving my family, my friends, my horses, my dog... *:chicken ack!* I mean, I really want to, but I have all these fears about it. I have never lived more than 45 minutes away from my family before....
What I need is a job, friends to talk to, places to hang out with these new friends and a horse to ride! I just need to know that it wont be the most terrifying move in my life. I mean, I have never been past the western part of my state before!
I'm terrified, if you cant tell, but I guess if i knew some people it might be easier. He really wants me near but said it has to be my choice. I mean what if moving in together is a bad idea and we end up losing what we have?

Point: I would like to get to know some of the miramar people first, meet some of these people on my one week visit around May 20th-27th and try it on to see how it feels to me.....

Sorry for the rant

Thank you, I will. Yeah, I knew the Navy guys were there too... I think :confuzzle I really do want to move out there but I'm such a social person I dont know what I would do without people to talk to. I'm just the girlfriend so I dont know how many people will actually give a damn that I'm there, its only for a few months then I will be moving back home to be with my friends and family while he is deployed. Its still scaring the hell outta me.....:eek

I live near Miramar and go there all the time. And I am a big time horse person too. One good thing about Miramar they have a horse stables that belongs to the base!!! You might want to see if someone will be on deployment that needs to have someone take care of there horse. I have a mustang thats just one and sometime next year Im going to bring him out here and hopefully to that ranch. I did notice awhile back they were hiring there too by the way. Good way to get in on some of the military crowd and get to do what you love and work. Out of all the bases Miramar I like the best here its small but with tons of stuff to do.

I'll be moving to Miramar in a few weeks. I certainly wouldn't mind getting together for coffee, shopping, or anything really. I don't know a soul there either! If you want to chat or need anything, let me know!

The UTC mall is up the road. It has an indoor ice skating rink inside it. There are plenty of resturants, La Jolla shores is close by, sea world is 20 minutes away, the zoo is 10 minutes away, the wild animal park is 20 minutes away, etc

My big worry is getting depressed because my family will be across country :( I dont want my Marine having to worry about me, and work and his upcoming deployment on top of re-establishing himself at the new base..... I hav so many fears :eek

Well I live about a few miles north of Miramar in Rancho Penasquitos. I'd probably be free once you move out here since school is kind of bombarding my whole social life. There is the Miramar Stables right next to base and there is also a set of stable in the Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve just a few miles North of there.
