help: my db has finally got his oders for is base. he going to virgina for being a corpsman. can anyone tell me about the base and the area? any help would br great. thanks

which base? hampton roads area is laden with military. no huge cities, but lots of small city/town areas.

Definately which base. We are about to head up to Little Creek so I don't know much about the Hampton Roads area yet. I know tons about Quantico and other bases in the northern part of VA.

we're from the tidewater area.. it consists of Va beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News and maybe one more city that i am leaving out. the main bases in that area are Norfolk naval base, Little creek, Portsmouth, Oceana they're all pretty much right next to eachother. we're pcsing to quantico, but thats in Northern va, and i havent ever been there. The area is really nice i've heard.

Va Beach is a Tourist area.. durning the summer tryin to do anything at the beach is physco. A big thing they have every year that is awesome, its Neptune Festival where they sculpt sand and stuff, its really awesome, people come from all over the world to participate and see it, and then in the winter you ahve the Polar plundge which is awesom! btw, vb is oober $$ they have really high tax but its the nicest i think, my mom still lives there

Norfolk is okay, some areas are run down as are most towns liek this area, they have beach called Ocean View its also an area, it used to be bacd, but they're redoing it, my dads helping with the reconstrucion, he has built most of the million dollar homes down there...

chesapeake is awesome, its a mix of va beach and norfolk, thats where i went to high school, i love the area, the most affordable homes are there.

suffolk is a cheaper place to live.. its okay.. but a little far from vb norfolk and chesapeake..

the other cities i didnt go around much.. but they're descent
