My fiance is trying very hard to get into officer school. But my concern is this- He told me that we can't get married until he is finished because he says that you can't be married for the school he is applying for. Is this true? If so is there a website for me to look over. I'm sad because I really want to be with him and be his wife:( but at the same time this is a really "Mature" decison considering some things he has done in the past:rolleyes . I almost broke up with him cause all he said was "we'll get married in 4 years" and no real details. So now I have my facts and just wanted some truth about the school cause maybe he misinterpeted what he was told about being married if not uumm, I guess I'm waiting!:dunno . I need a hug!

i am pretty sure at the academy they cannot have dependents i dont know about reg. office schooling though.

If you are talking about the Naval academy, I think he can't be married. I know one of the ladies I used to work for got married right after her other half graduated from it.

If hes trying to get into the academy I heard he can't be married, but its hard to get into the academy from the fleet, they only take a few every year. If hes trying to get into OCS..he CAN be married. But to get into OCS he already has to have atleast his 4 year degree. If hes trying to get into STA-21 he CAN be married aswell. So you might want to find out what officer program hes trying to get into. Good Luck!

My dh went to the academy and it's right you can't be married in there...but the regular officer school...I'm not sure about.

I know any of the academies i dont think you can be...My husband went to the citadel and he couldnt be married...But when he was in STA-21 there were tons of married guys, as well as when his friend was in ocs
