Does anyone else feel the financial strain of deployment preparation? I have been sitting here thinking all morning how I am going to juggle the bills and which ones will get paid now and which later so we have enough money to get everything dh needs. It was the same way last year when he deployed too. I was just wondering if we're the only ones with this issue going on. :thinking

DH has only been on one major deployment and we had some money left at the time from our tax return so we didn't feel it much. If not i am sure i'd feel your strain.

Not currently, but we definately have in the past. There was so much stuff he wanted/needed to get done, like tuning up the car or buying a new one (depends on which deployment we're talking about..LOL) and updating uniforms and getting things ready...

We always spend a fortune getting DH ready for deployments. The one we are preparing now is quite pricey!

YES!!! We took a 50% salary paycut for this deployment, on top of all the deployment gear, a months worth of no pay at Christmas... its been a nightmare.
