I just got my Military care pack 04 (or whatever it is called) from USPS and it has the 3 smaller flat rate boxes, 3 bigger ones, packing tape, customs form and then some large mysterious see through stickers. What the heck are those for? Do I just stick them on the bottom or something?
I know I sound sumb now but I just want to make sure that he gets whatever I send, and not get it lost because I didn't stick their see through sticker with two words on it :giggle

Any ideas???
TIA!

Wow I totally didn't know about this little kit, I just got a ton of the flat rates mailed to my house. I'll have to check it out.

Those clear pockets are I think for the customs forms to go in and then affix them to the box, but I usually just let the person at the mail counter do it.

Yes, the clear pockets are for the customs form. But do not seal it, the post office has to stamp those and you get a copy.

Yeah, call them and order it Fidzy! It is so cool, they even give you packing tape. I ordered flat rate EVERYTHING. I think I won't have to get anymore boxes the entire time.I have dozens of them now :giggle

That's what I was thinking, I don't want to do the shipping label here, I just want to give everything to them and they can run it through. Maybe I am paranoid but I am afraid that I will miss something or do it wrong. So I will let the pros handle it.

Thanks for the help and warning!
This is so nice that you can get everything done at home and then just bring it to the post office.

The clear stickers are for the customs forms, I never place those on the box till i am at the window then the Post person will affix it for me. Besides you can't mail it from anywhere other then the window because they have to stamp all the copies and give you a copy. :D

don't mention it. The people at two post offices know me by name. Just wait, you will get there!! I already have all of my customs forms filled out and ready to go. It's like a mini post office in our apt.

so any of those who used the packing tape it comes with did you have a postal worker tell you that you were going to have to retape it???I have a friend who the postal worker took the tape off and made her buy a new roll before she'd mail it

Nope. They never take the tape off mine. I did see them make a gal use a label but that was because after she taped it part of the addy was covered. I just always make sure to not put my addy and his on there until I tape it closed

I could see the tape problem happening if it is super cheap and flimsy. I usually tape over boxes 2-3 times to make sure it is strong. Haven't used the tape they send though.

yeah i'm still at the point where i let the nice people at the post office handle the customs forms. they basically just tell me what to write so i don't mess up! i didnt know you can have boxes shipped to your house! i'll have to go on the site...

I second that! I have boxes galore, filled out address and customs labels, a stock of "thinking of you" and "miss you" cards... all I do is go out and buy stuff to send!
