My DB was just sent there and I'm trying to make plans to visit him. I heard something about a guest house where guests of the soldiers can stay with them for a few days for really really cheap instead of staying in a hotel. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

We are here at Huachuca. What is he here for? Will he have a pass when you see him?
You can stay at the guest house with him if he makes the reservations, and checks you in. But since you are not a dependent you can't because you have to have a military id.
Sometimes its hard to get a room on post though because of all the students that live there, they have priority.
LMK if I can help anymore!

He's there for AIT... so since I'm not a dependent I won't be able to stay in the guest house? Is that what you were saying? And yes, he'll have a weekend pass. I just didn't want to have to pay for a hotel... :)

You can't stay in the guest house alone if you are not a dependent. If he makes the reservations (or you could with his rank and ss#--if you have it) and he is there with his id for check in, then you can stay there with him.

DH and I lived out there until November while he was in AIT. Technically I wasn't supposed to be out there, but went anyway and got an apartment. BUT for the first two weeks I was out there I stayed at Motel 6. They were relatively nice and not too expensive. They're also right on FRY BLVD which is the main road and only like 5 min from post. Another helpful hint... try going ahead and booking something before you get there because since it's such a small post alot of the hotels/motels are booked because of the soldier's families!
