This will be my first time and dh wants us to sit there & keep an eye on stuff they pack, and take lots of pictures. Pictures of the boxes, that is :hehe

I plan on buying them lunch also.

this last time I stayed out of the way because i was alone and had the dogs with me. I usually just stay out of the way in general.

stay out of their way but keep an eye on them... just because they work for a moving company doesnt mean they're trust worthy.

I plan on cleaning around them, while watching them from afar.

I've always been told it's a liability if I 'help them' and I'm supposed to just watch and direct, but not actually HELP.

when they bring my stuff, I just tell them where to put it. I don't actually help them move.

I do offer beverages though...but never have bought lunch.

I wanted to add- before you buy them lunch- ASK them- some moving companies have the policy that they can't even take lunch from the customer.

I offer them a cup of tea and tell them to give me a shout if they need any help with anything. Then I let them get on with it, whilst casually keeping an eye on them.

We've only moved once and I stayed out of the way because I didn't know wth to do lol.
DH kept an eye on them and told them what was staying (i was living w/ my mom while he was in korea) and what needed to be packed.

Well, I haven't actually had a moving company ever move my stuff, so I voted as to what I would do, which is sit, watch, and direct as to what I want where. My uncle works for a moving company that is contracted by the military and he's always said they would rather the family they are moving just stay out of the way and not try to actually help because if the person gets hurt while trying to help, it can be a big problem.

Do nothing. They go so fast anyway.
